I'm on my 3rd ipv mini. 1st one died after 3 weeks. Sent to asmodus, the replacement was defective didn't make it a day. Sent back to asmodus. The 3rd one is waiting for me when I get back home this weekend. Hoping the 3rd time will be the charm. I really did like the mod when it was working.

Wow. That's too much. That's too bad. I really like much about what I have seen and read on the ipv mini. I was thinking it could be my mod 2 if and when I ever get to that point. But not with QC problems like that.

Don't be so quick to judge.
I have (2) received at the same time and have been hammering both pretty hard for a few weeks now. I have pulled one apart twice ot take pics and check parts for others and had -0- issues with either.
By hammering, I mean power vaping @ 30 watts and changing batteries 4-6 times in a LONG Day.

Not Every anything is perfect. That said, you buy anything, you take a gamble. At least P4U has a service to take care of their customers.

This mini is also the only release so far that will Both Boost and Buck power. DC-DC and PWM

They will probably refer you to the warranty company Asmodus or you can go to asmodus website and complete the rma form pay the $8.00 service fee up front and ship it to them. I've had to do it twice now. The turnaround time has been 1 week bith times for me.

I somehow doubt I'll have to ship it to the US :p

Does anyone know who handles the warranties in the EU?

Liking the jwrap... be careful when putting it on display. I had to pull back and reposition a little and the screen itself started to lift with the wrap. Feels secure now. The wrap does go upto top and down around charge port which will hold screen in now, in case it was actually coming loose... btw, had not noticed any problems with my screen prior to this...

My IPV Mini is begging for a carbon fiber wrap! Wraps look awesome on our mods! I love how even with a wrap you still have all that stainless around the display!

I am buying one today from a local B&M for this reason ^. The price is about $20 more than the least expensive price I could find at an online Canadian store but it comes with a battery... I'm guessing an MXJO yellow rewrap because that's what this store sells. So supporting local isn't that much more expensive in this case and I have an actual shop to return it if it screws up.

I think it is smart to buy mods locally for just the same reason!

Quick and dirty pics of my IPV mini.
Confirmed: reads .1 ohm too low. That's fine, can work around that.
Subtank and every other tank I have sits flush, nada problemo.

The weight of it is great with the subtank because it's not top heavy at all.

excuse my messy desk.

It came with this battery in the box from the factory.... anyone care to guess what it may be? (brand, amp output)

do yourself a favor and toss that mystery battery I think. I personally wouldn't take the chance. I received a device with an AW batt in it, turned out to be fake ;)

If it draws more power than the battery can provide, that will be a problem. They put venting on the cap for this reason. For 6 bucks, I wouldnt try my luck on some unknown battery.

If it is built as advertised it will not. A Mechanical would. A regulated is designed to know and react.
Not to argue, but I have fiddled with Regulated mods and various batteries for several years.

Someone using toppers at 5w-15w may never notice.

That would be me. Mystery battery works ok and isn't heating up or anything weird. I wouldn't put it near my face at .5 ohm without knowing who made it though.

IPV mini... it's been said before: battery cover is sharp eh? I wish the cover was heavier... it's easy to crossthread.
I like this mod. PWM mode is my friend. I can run any tank I own on this and it's not over driven.

Thank you to those who contributed to this thread with info. It's a good mod. I hope it stays working just like this.
