IPV V2 - Did I get a dud?

Hey all,

i have a concern about my ipv V2. I bought it specifically so I could fire my Kangertech Aerotank turbo. I have had my device for about a week now. It has started not not read resistance correctly. Occasionally when firing the device, the resistance read out will double, even triple, causing the voltage to shoot way up. Sometimes I don't notice it and get a lung full of hot garbage nastiness. This will happen roughly every tenth hit, causing me to unscrew the Turbo and put it back on.

Then it will sometimes go into fits of saying "check atomizer." Now, I have changed the coils in the device to rule that out. In addition I have recently bought a Plume Veil rda just to try my hand at dripping. That puts the IPV at a whole new level. The resistance will show correctly for maybe 4-5 hits, then spaz out completely. Even jumping up to ~10 ohms. That in turn causes fits of "check atomizer" and "check battery". And yes, it has been recoiled numerous times.

Is there any way this is my attys? Or is it time to send it in for service?

I just gave it a few turns to see if that helps. I didn't want to overdo it since it is spring loaded and doesn't appear tightened like normal. I will let you know if it helps.

Thanks!

Try adjusting the contact screw on your tank to make it more flush. That can affect the way the ipv reads the atty resistance. I wouldn't touch the box's contact without consulting your seller, or Asmodus.

That seemed to make no difference. I had already messed with the pins on the attys. After posting this I brought the pins down some. The Turbo seems to run a little better. Only sporadically showing a resistance change. However, I noticed the plume veil screw just spins in place. Doesn't move either up or down. It's still going all sorts of screwy. Is it possible I managed to buy a terribly cheap RDA and the turbo is just a coincidence?

Thanks for your replies guys.

Update: I'm not sure why the Turbo occasionally has a resistance spike. But, after messing with the Plume Veil, the center pin of the 510 connector completely fell out. I googled 510 connection problems. And found this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...lume-veil-center-post-issue.html#post14363316 post #7 explained everything.

It turns out that the positive posts were supposed to be level with the negative posts and not spin after all. :glare:

It seems that this wasn't an APV problem but a noob-at-RDAs problem. Thanks guys for your input anyways.
