IPV v3 thoughts?

So I know I could of gotten in cheaper but I like to support a local small business and since it is a major step up in my game I bought the IPV3 with an Infinite CLT v2 at my local store. All I can say is wow what a difference from where I was at that is for sure. So far I must say I love it....

I don't think I'll regret the ipv.

I've been trying to decide between it and the sigelei 100w Plus and Sig150w, for months.

I just joined an "Owner's Group" on Facebook, and somebody posted a pic of the SX chip at 165watts, and ohm-display accuracy updates to hundreths/0.01 ohms!!
... He said this upgrade will be available to the IPV3 in early December!! The 0.01 ohm upgrade alone makes me extremely happy I grabbed 1, if this is true.

I'm just bummed I got the new version with charging disabled, and the screws will be a pain.

But I don't think I'll regret buying the IPV3 over the Sig's if that update is true. Got a great deal (cheapest I've heard of), can't wait til it's here!

Hello, fellow Scot!

If you're a cloud chaser then it's not an ideal mod. The new software update allows it to run at 0.08 ohms but there's a 'glitch' in the iPV3's software. Once you get below 0.2ohms, the resistance reading on the iPV3 tries/wants to jump 'up' to 0.3 and sometimes more. This can result in much more power running through your coil than ideally is safe. You see this happening more in fancy builds like triple-twisted 26 gauge dual coils that have a lot of wire and not much resistance.

The lowest build I run on mine is 0.22ohms (dual coil, 5 wraps of 22 gauge) and it handles it just fine. However - more sensibly - if you run at 0.8 ohms and above then you won't see the glitch at all.

I'm not getting any glitches. I had a .29ohm coil in there and it sat at .29

AquaLung: from what I understand, it's always been there. RiP Trippers mentions it in his iPV3 review. Even after I updated to the 165W upgrade it was still there. It's no big deal though. Just build above 0.2 ohms and you'll be fine.

jrose152: yeah, you're not seeing it because you're building above 0.2 ohms.

Like I say, guys. It's no big deal. Just keep to 0.2 ohms and above with your builds.

This is the RiP Trippers review I'm referring to. You'll hear him talking about how the resistance "jumps up" on very low builds (I can't remember the exact time but it's after the unboxing section).

I just ordered the ipv3 vr-150. Silver with the carbon fiber. I saw that this is a limited run. Is this true or just a marketing ploy. Im alsonthinking of upngrading firm ware as well for the better ohm reader for it. Has anyone had any problems with this yet? Or maybe knows which form dis i should be loking in as i cant find one yet for ipv3 owners.

To be honest since I finally have screen glitch free DNA40's I kicked the IPV3 to the curb, it just sets there with the other mods, attys and batteries in the shrine vaping past.
I've said it before and I'll say it again there is really no practical reason from a vaping standpoint of a regulated vape to exceed 30-40 watts. When the same and better can be accomplished at 40 watts and below.

I'm thinking the ipv3 could have temp control added via a firmware upgrade - likely not from a p4u upgrade but instead from someone taking the time to mod it themselves. I'm super happy with mine and frequently go over 40w -- and the hacker in me loves the fact that the firmware can be updated and it's not locked down like the majority of other mods out there.

Haha it'll take a bit more than firmware there hacker buddy to get your sx330 to do TP if it were that easy every chip maker in China would be doing it.

please tell me what is this specialized temperature control hardware?

you need to know the resistance at rest and a table or formula to translate that to a resistance at X temperature...
you monitor the resistance and stop it when it shows it reaches a temp and turn it on again at when it starts to cool down.
nothing magic and only requires a bit of extra code...

I've had the IPV 2S for a couple weeks now and really like it. I upgraded the firmware and it's now a 70W device. P4U just released the IPV 2X which uses the same chip as the 2S. The the body mirrors the IPV 2 with a larger firing button.
