Ipv3 ni tc resistance question

I've got gClapton atom ni200 .15 coils. It measures out on .53. I thought it would be lower. Am I doing something wrong?

Do you have an ohm meter? If the ohm meter and mod both say .53Ω +/- a few then that's it's resistance. Also, did it read .53 when you first put the coil in or did you fire it up a few times and then noticed? If the coil is not room temperature and you vaped on it, the resistance is wrong.

Hmm well it could just be a bad coil then. From what I'm seeing on this YouTube video, it only runs Temp Control or Joules mode from .05Ω - .5Ω so I don't think that coil will work.

I'm trying it now and it works. It's crackling a lot, but that should be fine. Is it safe to use it like this?

You have to run Ni200 coils in Temp Control mode or Joule mode whatever they call it. Attach your tank with coil, make sure you have Ni200 selected, press the + and - at the same time to lock in the base resistance then you can set your Joules and temp. Do not vape Ni200 in regular power mode.

How did you 'take the measure' ? The number appeared on the screen when you screwed on the tank?

Your 0.15 ohm coil can go up to 0.3 ohm when hot.

It says the measure on the display after I've set the temp and ni200. Don't know if there is a lock feature. The resistance doesn't change when vaping. Should I try another coil?

Excellent! Will try to do more research before asking in the future. Many thanks for all the help. Will try to change the coil as it seems that might be the issue as I hadn't fired it before checking the resistance and it was in room temperature. Will let you know

I've now locked in the resistance and it measures at .11 I'm now officially a happy vaper! Got a smooth vape with no crackling sounds. I can also taste the juice, which is the first time sinc 9 days ago. The flavor isn't intense by far, but I can at least hint at some Again, many thanks for the patience and help!

Yeah, over my head indeed Just want to add that after I found the sweet spot, THE FLAVOR IS BACK! Haven't tasted anything for 9 days, but now...scrumptious! Thought I had vapors tounge, but it seems it was a matter of finding the correct settings and figuring how to work things properly
Btw, if you want to explain me the steam engine thingy, I would be more than happy to share the results with you

I went through a patch where TC was god but after a while it got boring as you just can't beat kanthal

Ss now that's another story play with that its the best temp sensing wire to date
