Hi all. For some time now I have been thinking to get a mod that is more powerful than my VTR (have it for 1,5 years and still working like new) and after some thinking I seem to lean towards the pioneer4you ipv4. Just wanted the forum's members opinion on this 'soon to be available' mod. I am mostly interested on negative opinions, the reason why and proposing an alternative. Thanks!

Kind of tough to give an opinion on a Not yet existent Mod.

Can tell you P4U has had their up and down moments. The last few releases have been more on top of their game.
IPV 2S and PV mini 30 seem to be doing very well.
I have (2) mini's and am pleased with both.
Mini v2 is also due to be released taking the jump from 30 to 70 watts.
Specs look decent on the IPV 4 also.

Well, I still appreciate this post because I learned what the "P'" stood for.

Had a vtr for a week, it was a beast and a heavy son of you-know-what.

Yes that's what I want to hear. If there are any negative opibions concerning the brand name, the specs and the possibility of a better suggestion in the same money range.
I have the 2S and love it. The only negative I've heard are people not liking the screws on the iPV3 instead of magnets. The iPV4 is supposed to have magnets though.

I've been considering a mini but now I think I'll wait. Hopefully the Mini 2 uses the SX 350 mini chip like the SX 350 mod.

Not likely the SX350 cost about the same as the mod is suppose to sell for.
Its suppose to be the sx330 v2c chip.
According to website listings.

The IPV4 reminds me of a Chevy Avalanche. I don't know why, but it does.

Anyway, I usually don't go for pre-orders and I usually will wait a couple of weeks for a device to be out so I can learn about it and maybe see a review or two.

Especially if that device is from a manufacturer that has had a few, er, gremlins in previous releases.

Just my 2 cents of course and YMWV.

I see what you are saying however I see the design to be a bit more like the YiHi SX Mini which nobody seems to complain about. The design change also looks quite a bit more comfy in the hand compared to my iPV 2S or iPV3.
