I think you were pushing your battery past the limit, rather than something in the mod malfunctioning...

Couldnt tell bc i just pulled the lanyard to pop them out then when it started going crazy i wrapped it up in sheets and tried to stamp it out
Sony VTC4 18650 2100mAh battery ( box of two )
Sony is no longer making 18650 batteries, so any VTC4s or VTC5s you see are either old stock or fake. I can vouch for the link above, I just bought that exact deal just over a week ago and inspected them very carefully against my known VTC4s that I've had for over a year. That is the only place I've bought from recently enough to feel comfortable giving a recommendation.
They are backordered at that site. Can you vouch for them as selling legit batteries? No offense intended, just wondering if you've done business with them in the past or not.
You were pushing a 30A load on batteries that are only rated to 20A continuous discharge.
Even with 30A batteries that is not entirely safe. You're right at the very edge of their limits and it's going to cause significant heating and damage the batteries, even with VTC4s.
If you're determined to run a mod at 110W then I wouldn't recommend going any lower than .18 ohms with 30A batteries or .37 ohms with 20A batteries.
