Not the only mod without one either (RX 200).
The rx200 has a power lock function, and the five click on-off is essentially the same as a lock function. The Alien has a lock function, but not a power lock function (I think that's what the op is referring to).

I would like to warn anyone who owns a IPV8 (or is going to buy one), my IPV8 510 connector poke out in less than 2 months use. I mean the connector simply detached from the mod and partially protrude from its original position and the mod can not be used as usual any more.

So, do not screw your tank too tight on IPV8, because chances is, you might accidentally pull the whole 510 connector out from the mod.

I was very lucky that I got a free replacement from IPV staff when I attend Vapecon 2017 (on 2nd April at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia). They give me a fee IPV Vesta (their latest product) which according to them, has only been pushed into the market for about a week.

IPV Vesta runs on YiHi SX410 chipset and has a "Taste" mode where just by pressing the 3 buttons on the mod, you may set a power graph. i.e. You can set the wattage you want at each second for a total of 10 seconds.

OBS Engine Nano on IPV6 (skinned edition) VS Ijoy Exo on IPV Vesta:

Though in comparison, the latter looks (at least, to me it is) ugly but its Taste mode performs so well in burning my ceamy juice with a Notch Coil in the IJoy Exo tank. Man... you got to try it before you can understand how convenient it is to plot a 10 seconds power graph on-the-fly and get a fantastic vapor production.

Thr exact same thing happened to my Target Mini that I first owned. The 510 connector became detached to the point where any atti I would put on it would shake and move around. I did buy another Target Mini. This time I am extremely careful to tighten any atti just up until it can't be turned anymore but nothing more than that. This issue creates itself too when one drops their mod with an atti connected but it happens from tightening too hard with unneeded force too, even minimally. This was my experience.
