Hiya all, I am new to vaping, having smoked for a while now. I am reducing the number of cigarettes I smoke and doing more e-cig 'vaping'. I'm really interested in what's going on as I like to try new things. I've heard about HeatSticks and fancy giving them a go but they're only sold outside of the UK. Does anyone know if they're going to come over here or if we can buy them for shipping to the UK? Also, I'd love to hear your recommendations of UK e-cig brands and juice suppliers please.
Thanks! HelenMelon.:)

Welcome. I'd never heard of Heatsticks before you mentioned them. A quick Google (which I'm sure you've already done) showed them to be essentially a "[edited]" of which there's lots around of various sorts, though mentioning them here is a bit of a no-no. The Heatstick seems to be a Big Tobacco take on keeping up with the vaping trend and missing the mark entirely.

Apologies - if I ever mention [edited] again I promise to [edited] my [edited] and [edited] it up sideways.

Welcome mate!

Shirtbloke has the right of it -- we haven't heard much about them here as they were released in like 2 markets overseas first (Japan, Italy) and will be starting a larger rollout throughout this year. And yes, it contains actual tobacco molded up with stuff as a cartridge, which then goes into a larger ego-ish-sized base and heats it up to temps similar to an ecig without initiating combustion (burning it).

I can't say when they'd hit the UK. They did Japan first, but only released them in Italy in November 2014. I remember reading when they'd cut earnings estimates that they'd put a looooot of money into it ($1.2-2 billion) so we'll be hearing a lot about them.

Hi Helen.

I know of iQUOS and even if it was available wouldn't touch it with a barge-pole. It could be the best thing since slice bread, but exists purely to take your money and put it into the deep pockets of a Tobacco company.

If you are still smoking a bit, maybe you should keep going with e-cigs and see how far you can go. It shouldn't be too difficult, even for the hard-core smoker (not that I am making any assumption).

There are some great vendors in the UK selling top hardware. To be totally honest, most of them are not actually a "brand". Most brands are to be avoided.

I guess one has to think of it as this; the big manufacturers of e-cigs (Joyetech, Kanger, Innokin, Janty, eleaf, Aspire etc.) are completely different to the "brands" of e-cig like E-lites, Nicolites, 10 Motives (cig-a-like), Apollo, Vapouriz, Vivid, Blu, Cirro, Kik (tanks ones).

You don't want to be buying anything from those companies. They just sell junk for maximum profit.

If you know this already, I apologies for being patronising. :)
