is 3 days a long time to steep to test flavors?

I'm new to diy and I'm trying to figure out how to tackle it with the lack of ejuice. my shipment hasn't even shipped yet and by the time I get it and start mixing I will be low on juice/practically gone. I am planning to mix 3 10ml batches since I have 3 flavors all of which were recommended 5%. I am wondering if 3 days of steeping will be enough to tell if I need to up the flavor in them or they will be good with more steeping?

if so HOW do I know I mean I'm looking for great flavoring in my ejuice like unicorns blood by fusion vapor. 2 of the juices are deserts one is candy. I am looking at a high VG mix 70/30. I plan to steep it by simply leaving in my closet shaking it maybe once a day. the dessert ones I am not so worried about I hear those take longer to steep the candy one though I would like to vape ASAP and was wondering if this is long enough to make a decision on adding more flavor or simply just making a bigger batch and steeping longer

This may depend on your recipe - I've found the longest steeping was needed by vanilla's and tobacco's, but also depending on the actual brand - some have an alcohol component that takes a long time to go away.

But for some desserts, I've found they were good immediately, and just changes subtly with some time.

To answer the title question - no, 3 days is not a long steep. 3 MONTHS is a LONG steep. LOL.

My "every day" flavor is good fresh, better after a week.
But now, it's even longer - because I mix it in 100 ml bottles, which take longer.
No biggie - I just make a batch when I've still got full bottles, and I'm always vaping month-old juice.

Recipes would be helpful to be able to offer advice. Right now we would just be guessing.

flavors are Blueraspberry cotton candy by Capella, DX cinnamon roll/bun by I believe Capella as well if not it's by TFA, and Blueberry Crumble by Capella. ALl 5% ( SINGLE FLAVORS so 3, 10ml bottles)
Batch size 10ml's
Vg 70%, PG 30%, Nic 2mg at 24mg VG based.

I am not really doing any really complex recipes since I'm starting just wanted brief steeping advice/timer for these flavors I will try to vape them at first and see how they are I believe non contain alcohol so breathing isn't likely needed

You should be able to vape them straight away especially the cotton candy. It will be ready to rock immediately.

If It is cap cinnamon Danish swirl I prefer it fresh with the upfront cinnamon taste. It mellows in a few days and becomes more complex. Would highly recommend some whipped cream and vanilla with that stuff or vanilla bean ice cream or vanilla swirl lol. You get the idea.

Let me know why you think of the blueberry crumble stuff. I didn't care for it. Still have most of my bottle left. May have to revisit at a different ratio.

If you have all cap ( though I doubt as dx is a tfa abbreviation) I would start stand alone at 7%.

I'd call 3 days steeping 3 days too long, if I had nothing to vape. But with such a low level of flavoring, I'd say 3 wks is more in order. If you want good flavor right away, to know if it's something you really want to vape or not, you're gonna have to go over 20% flavoring. Single flavor mixes are more likely to taste like lightly-flavored water, or maybe water that you gently waved a piece of fruit at.

50% main flavor
50% creams, vanilla, sweetener

At least 20% flavoring if you want something vapable quickly; 25%-30% is better if you really need it NOW. And mixes that are high in VG take longer to taste like anything at all; VG doesn't really *express* flavor well, and it's thick and therefore very hard to mix.

Those are reference points. Everyone is different and require different strengths to achieve the flavor of liking. I personally do not use any over 3% as mine range from .1%-3%. As you can see from above. I use dx Danish swirl @ 1.5% and cotton candy, nothing over 1% Hope this helps and also while you are waiting, here are a few good reads for you.

TFA Vanilla Swirl is good and mixes well with just about anything. It's also "DX", though it's not in the name. I use TFA flavors at 15 - 20% and find that 3 days steep time will give you a general idea of how they will turn out. Be careful with some of their flavorings though. Juicy Peach, Pear, and Honeydew are all SUPER potent. Use them at less than 5%. Raspberry has a chemical-y taste to it, but you can get rid of it by steeping for a couple of hours with the cap and spout off to let it evaporate. The best shake and vape flavors I have found are from OSDIY. I think I suggested their Blue Raz Slushie to you the other day. It's $5 for a 30 ml bottle and you won't be disappointed if you like fruity flavors.

I only tried a couple of Capellas flavors and was completely underwhelmed. I had to mix them at 20% to taste anything at all and after 2 weeks steep they didn't improve much.

Blueberry crumble isn't horrible, not great, but not horrible haha.I tried it 1 day after mixing, and again a week later, and it tasted the same,so i would say it's where it needs to be after a day.I haven't tried the dx version of cinnamon danish, but i have used the regular, and what i did was mix it,sit the bottle in a cup of hot water until it cooled, then repeat the hot water, then once cooled again, let it sit overnight and good to go.
