I agree with hairball in post 22 above. I've been vaping for close to 2 years now and have gone through all the different PG/VG ratios at some point. The only time I've had a problem with juice causing any sort of problem in my atty's or carto's, I've attributed it to the flavorings used in said juice. The base mixture does not, in my experience at least, have anything to do with it. It always amazes me how myths start and perpetuate.

Well I don't think it's a "myth", VG is most def thicker than PG, and that is where the problem rises from. It prevents the wick from wicking properly, burns things out, etc...maybe you all have just been lucky. But I've used 70VG/30PG before and it killed my atty's in under a week, then I've gone back to 80PG/20VG and my atty's last me 4-6 weeks lol...

i wish theyd invent a nearly indestructible atomizer already, hmm or one that could at least last like 6 months

ive heard that using a sonic cleaning system (like for cleaning jewlery using ultra sonic waves in a solution) really works great on breaking up crud and burnt gunk on a coil of an atomizer, use vodka or grain alochol only though, i think wal-mart some times carries a few ultra sonic cleaners, if not im sure theres pleanty on a website like amazon for like $25, ive been wanting to try it out see if it really works

I have a feeling that eventually, that will happen.

Don't use atties but I've been using Stardusts for a couple months and I can definitely tell a difference. For me, it seems that VG higher than 50% causes them to get gunked up to the point of being unusable after about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. Probably could be remedied by taking them apart, but the simple rinse/dryburn doesn't even help. Also, the juice seems to separate more with higher VG, which I guess could be the PG getting wicked up faster than the VG, leaving me with a dark, hellish "dregs" of sorts that is so concentrated with nicotine and flavoring that it tastes horrible. The stardust is too convenient for me to go back to dripping or cartomizers with a ton of filler. Malty Toffee (70% VG) was especially bad, which sucks because I love that juice. It's 40% VG or lower from now on for me.
