Good mornin' everyone, I am so excited to try vaporizing , I check every day online to track my 510's progress, it was still in WI this morning, so still a long way from Arkansas darn it. I only bought two packs of smokes today I hope it will be here tomorrow, but I think I am going to have to shell out more bucks for for the hated cancer sticks.

I have been reading this forum for hours each day, so I will be informed enough to give this way of quitting smoking a real chance to be successful. I even told my old man I was going to be vape-ing soon, and he said "good what are you gonna bake" lol. I explained about the ecig thing and he seemed less interested, but if it works for me, and he sees it, maybe he will put down the smokes too.

From what I have read though, the batteries on the regular 510 dont last very long, even with two that come with the starter kit, I am afraid I wont have power all the time, and I don't want to be forced to smoke while a battery charges. I saw the passthrough thingy, and it seems like a good way to always have power for the ecig. Do they work well? can you use an ac adapter with the usb and plug it into a wall socket and use? (I have one for my kindle). Is there a longer lasting battery that will fit on the 510? I wish I would have gotten a more powerful ecig, now that I have done all this reading, but everyone on here seems to have tried more than one type too.

I need advice on atomizers too please I know I read the info on them, but I have read SO much that my mind is sorta full, and I cant remember how many of them I should have on hand, and how long they last before having to be replaced, I want to have enough, and it takes awhile to ship way down here.

Sorry this was so long you guys, but I appreciate so much your help and guidance.

Better yet, get a passthrough battery.

I use eGo 650mah pasthrough batteries. Your 510 cartos/atty's will fit.

They hold a charge for about 8-12hrs depending on how you vape, and you can charge and vape at the same time.

There are dozens of websites that sell them for around $23, here's one:

Definitely would agree on the eGo passthrough. It's real handy dandy, last a long time, easy to charge, and you can just leave it on your desk in constant full charge all day and use it at the same time. Additionally, it is lockable for those times you are carrying it in a purse or pocket. For $23, it's a no-brainer. I'd get the black rubberized one if I were you. I've got two and the black rubberized just feels better in the hand. Good luck.

For 510 there are Personal Charging Cases PCC . I have one for the ego . The case is a charger and battery so you can take it with you and plug it in when you get home . I don't like being attached to a cord when vaping but it can also be a good way to leave the battery to charge . The boge leo batteries are all passthrough batteries . There is also one other thing you can do with a passthrough battery and that is use an exteral power supply .

A passthrough with a real inline battery that charges as you vape it may be used on the same size battery's USB to AC. or on a PC's USB.

However, a plain passthrough with just a battery-looking handle (not a real battery) must not be used on a PC's USB and a battery charger USB to AC is not enough - for a real direct-from-power passthrough you need a 2amp USB to AC (puts out more power than a battery charging one)

I just carry a charged Riva 510 battery as a backup (the 3.7v kind - latest Eastmal model).

I have the eGo passthru, and at about $20 for it, no attys or cartos, it's still a great price for a great eGo. I use smoktech 1.5 dual cartos and have fabulous results, good TH, vapor, and I sit at my comp all day and vape, and can take it with me on the go. I have a nook charger I use when I can't be at the comp. I also have a 510 with a PCC I take on the go sometimes, not as strong as the eGo, but it works fine for me when I'm not out too long :)

If you get tired of the tiny cartridges and atomizers give some of these a try.

Vision Extreme: Comes in giant sizes for the eGo battery, down to micro sizes for the mini 510 batteries. These are very easy to use and last for many refills.
GV VISION ExTReMe™ : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

And here are a variety of 'giant cartos' that would fit well on the eGo passthrough mentioned earlier.

The Echo holds around 3ml of liquid and has a single coil atomizer for longer battery life:
The Echo Cartomizers

The eGo Mega Dual Coil cartos hold close to 5ml of liquid. They have dual coils and can push the limits of regular eGo type batteries (won't last as long between charges) but they are worth trying one at some point:
Ego Mega Dual Coil Cartomizers

You can find these Echo and Mega Dual Coils at a variety of vendors, I just offer these links as examples of the products.

You might want to stay with smaller cartos and atties at first, as you learn what e-liquids you prefer, but it's just a heads up on some great things to look forward to :)

I also saw some neat cartomizers but they have a "resistance" choice field and I dont know what to choose. I am so confuzzed.

I'm betting you're looking at the CE2 cartomizers?
For 510 and eGo batteries I recommend the 2.4 - 2.6 Ohm range.
The 2.6 to 3 Ohm range will also work on your batteries, they'll just be a little 'cooler'.

Anything OVER 3 Ohms is NOT recommeneded for your battery types unless you discover that you want an 'extremely low temperature' for your vaping.

Anything UNDER 2 Ohms should NOT be used on the mini 510 batteries.

For the eGo battery, I personally would not go under 2 Ohms for regular usage, as it 'might' damage the battery.

Lower resistance = Hotter vape

I love the way those CE2 cartos vape. Just be aware you'll need tiny tools to fill them as they come out of the box. A syringe with a good metal blunt tip needle is highly recommended for the CE2. OR, you can pull out all of the silicon plugs and turn that top washer upside down. From then on you no longer 'need' a syringe to fill them, but you do still have to dig that little washer out and put it back in each time you fill.

The CE3 Smokymizers can leak a little when first filling, so keep them away from the battery, give them a good blow into a tissue and wipe it good when filled before screwing it on. Unless they have changed them, they do have a tiny plug in them, and need tweezers to get it in and out. A syringe or needle tip bottle is needed for filling these as well.

Both the CE2 and Smokymizer will last a good long time...so the value is there :)
The vaping experience (flavor, throat hit, and ease of use) is a bit different for each type, so I can't say which is 'better'...it's totally subjective.

The Giantomizers from myvaporstore are pretty good too. To me they are much easier to fill than the regular sized CE2. A syringe or needle tip bottle is still recommended, but you don't have to mess with a center washer. Just pull the mouthpiece out and inject your liquid in. They last a good long time. The mouthpieces can pop out easily and get lost is my only major fault with the Giantomizers.

I personally would avoid the CLEAR Rev 5 Clear CE2 (the older/cheaper CE2 on that site), as those older tubes can crack and fall apart on you.

The older Rev 5 metal CE2 are still a good value though. Just not quite as good as the newer ones.

the Vision Extremes take away all that fiddle factor. You just pull the top off, drip in your liquid, and pop it back on.

Credo, bless your heart for your help. I was just about to buy the cart with the dual coil thingys, and you made me realize that is probably not what I need, but now I found the giantomizers and there are TWO, I need help choosing between, they are eGo CE2 Giantomizer 3.7ml - Black and
eGo CE2 Giantomizer V2 with G-Tip if your still there, please advise. also to anyone, have you heard of bluemistvaping.com I found them and they had a ginormous rage of e juices in yummy sounding flavors for, from what I have seen, a pretty reasonable price. Thanks again, I am getting excited :)

I forgot to add - I carry all of the following

2 assembled ecig models each with a spare charged battery (510 and KR8)
a charged PCC for one of those models
a 650mah charged 3.7v Riva 510 battery (from the kits at Liberty-Flights.com which are new stock 3.7v)

In addition at work I have a PT w/ carto & juice in the drawer in case I ever totally blow it and forget my ecigs. At work I also have a 4-port 2-amp USB to AC, 1 charging cable each for 3 models (510,KR8,Riva 510) and instead of the cables I could use the PT on that.

I don't use the PT. But if I need to have a fully charged setup w/ backups even if I go somewhere straight from work, I can do that.

Re spare batteries? I recommend a spare manual battery for every ecig you are dependent on. I use my spare as my overnight battery. Late evening I set all of the day stuff up to charge and use the overnight battery until bed and as soon I as get up it is right there ready to pick up and vape.

The only difference in these two Giantomizers will be the mouthpiece part.
Note these will be GIANT size cartos, the same diameter as your eGo battery.

I've not tried the newer ones with the G-Tip yet so I'm not sure what to say about them. It probably just fixes how easy the older mouthpiece could pop out on accident. The carto itself looks identical to me.

They also have an F1 with a pen-cap cover. Again, same carto, just a different mouthpiece and cap. I've not tried one of those yet either.

On the dual coil cartos.
You could try one on the eGo battery as an occasional treat, tho' bigger batteries are certainly recommended if you like them enough to use them regularly.
