Like the title says, "Is a REO or Provari THAT good?"

I'll be celebrating THREE YEARS smoke free on September 25th (the day I got my Ego-T in the mail with 24mg nic e-liquid.)

I already HAVE a number of mods, but I seem to prefer my MVP over everything else. I really enjoy clouds several times a week, but flavor and convenience are most important for me.

I'd LIKE to get something to comemorate THREE YEARS smoke free, but I don't know where to look.

I DID buy a 2011 Chrysler Town & Country Van (used) with the savings over analogs, but my anniversary is calling.

WHAT mod would YOU get to celebrate YOURSELF for GRAND ACHIEVEMENT?!?!?!?!??????

Depends. Are you really into dripping or simplicity?

I have a Provari and love it. It does its job. (Engineer speak for "WOW!!!! Exactly on spec, not over, not under, no fuss, bother or worries. Absolutely fantastic design with no drawbacks.") Especially if you like the MVP2, it's a dream. However, take a look at the P3. It's in the works and you can see if it's enough of an upgrade to wait for.

Now, I don't have a Reo, but from everything I've heard, if you're into dripping, it's the equivalent of the Provari in that venue. Very well made and does its job with absolutely no fuss or worries.

The only negative I have of the Reo is price for what it does. At that price point I can make a regulated bottom feeder mod, which given my distrust of mechs is probably what I'm going to do while waiting for the Provari P3 to come down to a sane price.

There's a reason both have a loyal and vocal following.

Me? I'll tell you REO. I don't know what I'd do if I had to regress to anything not a feeder... I'd probably fall in to a depression or maybe a violent rage or something ;) . I think feeders are far superior devices... The next guy? He might tell you Provari and feel the same way. - I'll bet you've read the benefits of both and know that both are considered to be the benchmark all other mods are measured by.

Yes, they are both really, really good.

The provari will let you keep whatever topper you want/have - the reo is best with a bottom feeding rebuildable atty (if that's Greek to you, you might have your answer as to which device right there).

Because of this, I'd give the nod to the provari for convenience, since it can run plug and play clearos. I give the performance nod to the reo, however, if you're cool with rebuildables because of it's unique design - dripping (arguably the best vape experience) without the hassle of dripping.

Both are sturdy and dependable. Slightly better marks to the reo for vapocalypse survivability since it's a pure mech.

I love my reo+trident v2, but I also really enjoy the aerotank mega, and will soon be in the market for an aqua. These two would run better on a related device. I currently have an e-lvt in addition to my cana dna 30, but I definitely sold my provari v 2.5 to purchase my reo. I may have to sell some stuff to fund the new provari, because I've been waiting for one for a long time. Definitely in black...

I have been rebuilding for quite some time, but never cared for any of the tank systems (carto tanks, genesis, kayfun) but found that I loved dripping on a small-chambered atty. I was hesitant to buy a Reo but finally caved and it was all over. Fully mechanical with very little voltage loss, the convenience is amazing, capacity with a Reo grand is 6ml, customer support and community is amazing and I get all of the benefits of dripping without the mess or having to carry an extra bottle around with me.
Now that I have sold every other piece of gear I own (besides my beloved GLV super mini) I own 3 Reos and nothing else. I haven't had the slightest desire to buy anything else, I don't need to keep up with the latest rebuildable tanks or mech trends and I'm perfectly content.
Of course, the Provari is a fine bit of gear and they are equally as reliable, but they really are apples / oranges in terms of how they shine. Research lots and research more to see how either (or neither) would really benefit your taste. You truly can't go wrong either way......
Unless you buy a Provari LOL I'm sorry I don't know where that came from :D

I'm adding my agreement to this. I used a provari for my first year of vaping and it's truly a great device. After picking up a reo on my first vape anniversary, it hasn't left my hand. The provari has lived in my vape supply drawer now for over a year. I should probably sell it at this point but I just can't bring myself to part with it (we went through so much) but the reo totally changed my vape life.

However, there's a caveat. Imho, in order to get the most from the reo you need to be able to build a coil on a bottom fed rba. Nothing fancy, I run 1Ω single coil, cotton or rayon wick, change out the wick and dry burn the coil every couple days. Very simple, low maintenance, unbeatable flavor and very respectable vapor. You can get as hardcore as you wish, run dual coils or whatever, the option is there. I have the Provari(regulated), a Pegasus and Cartel (clones) mech along with kayfun, magma and mephisto toppers but each day I still find myself vaping on my reo with cyclone rda because I'm a flavor junkie and love the box mod form factor.

You should just go with what will fit your style the best. Great customer support for either choice. The Reo tribe is really a helpful, tight-knit group. Feel free to drop in on the Reos Mods section of the forum if you're inclined to do further research on the mod. We love the curious ones. :)

I own both, and yep, they're that good. I bought the ProVari when I'd been vaping for a month or so and it quickly became my main device. Then a month or so later I picked up a Reo just to see what all the hubbub was about. Since I bought the Reo, the ProVari sits in my cabinet as a backup and the Reo is my all-day, every day, go everywhere mod.

Both are quality devices, very well built and solidly backed up by their manufacturers with great customer service. Both are nearly indestructible. The ProVari is regulated, which is nice because you get a consistent vape almost right up until the battery dies. The Reo is a mech, so you wrap coils at the resistance of your choice and change batteries when the vape starts to get weak. For me, the Reo wins out because I like the bottom-feed, it's basically just like dripping without the hassle. I'm also around water a lot, and if the Reo happens to fall in it can just be dried off and put right back into action - with a regulated mod, the electronics are probably going to be toast if it takes a dunk in the lake! The Reo also fits better in a pocket (for me) and is easier to carry around than a tube mod.

As others have said, go for whichever one fits you best - you can't go wrong either way, they're both excellent devices.

Oh, and congrats on three years smoke-free!!!

I have the Provari 2.5 and absolutely love it. I want a REO because it to is built well. If and when I do get my REO I'll be keeping my Provari for the convenience of changing toppers. Sometimes I don't feel like building right then so yeah I'd be keeping the Provari. Ummm, get both :)

Ps. You can put RBA's/RDA's on a Provari as long as you stay within it's ohm zone, somewhere around 1.2-3ohms.

As said before, it is a matter of personal choice. For me, the ProVari is the best investment in vaping I have made thus far. I enjoyed it so much I just got a second from the classies here. I, too, was skeptical when reading people's comments and ravings about the ProVari, but was tired of spending money on mods that wouldn't work for more than a month or two and couldn't be repaired. I ordered my first, got it, and realized what the others had been saying was true.

I have never tried a Reo, so I can't comment on them.

I picked up a Russian at my local B&M a couple of weeks ago. Paired with my ProVari it is the best set-up I have used! I liked it so much I went back a few days after getting the first one and picked up a second. While on a trip to another state my wife picked me up a Kafun (that's why I love her!).

Everybody has their own "sweet spot" in vaping. I consider myself fortunate to have found my. I hope that you, and everybody else, is lucky enough to find yours!

Can't imagine you could go wrong with either but as others have pointed out they are designed for very different vaping styles. If you only use tanks and can't see yourself ever using anything other than a tank, stick with a Provari. If though, on the other hand, you use any RDAs or have ever wanted to use RDAs then I see zero risk in at least trying a Reo and I bet you dimes to dollars you'll be amazed.

My suggestion would be to pick up a Reo Grand and an RM2 RDA which is made for the Reo. There are many other RDAs that work really well with the Reo but the RM2 is pretty much bomb proof, you can wrap the ugliest coil in the world and still get absolutely amazing results. Once you have that set up running a Reo is just as simple as any other mod/topper system, just fill up the juice bottle, change the battery, and go.
