Is anyone else using the 5V Battery in their Grand or Woodvil?

I know this topic surfaced when the 5V-18650 size battery first appeared a few months ago, but it sold out so fast and then took forever to restock, so the discussion died down fast. But does anyone else use this batt in their Grand or Woodvil regularly? I got mine on Tuesday and I can't stop using them now. 5V is my sweet spot anyway and to have it on my Grand is just amazing! Stacked 3V's is just a little too much for me on a steady basis, but this strange green battery does the trick!

I use them all the time :) I have 6 of them now.

I like the connivence of the single cell (so to speak) over two CR123 batts.

I find the 5v works better than 6v for SR Cartos on most juices.

My actual fave set-up with the 5v is a good ole' cheap SR Joye atty (2.3Ω)
For less than 5 bucks an atty it makes for a heck of a good vape.

My problem with HV ... both 5v and 6v is I seem to loose the flavor much more quickly than 3.7v
What I mean is after 3-5 hours on an atty or carto it seems the taste is gone.
If I am home and can pop on a fresh SR atty its all good, but not real convenient.

I wish the run time was longer on the 5v and the charge time quicker though.

There are 3 or 4 other people that enjoy them on the REO as well.
For some reason I like it better in the Woodvil though .... Well everything is better in a woodvil I guess.

I should have figured you were all over this Tim! I never seem to get a green light on the charger, even after overnight charging...is that normal?

Two of mine never green light. The rest do. I leave them on for an extra 4-5 hours after. They are 5.6ish after that.

Ok, that's good to hear. Mine are also coming off at around 5.6, so I assume they are fully charged. Just no green light is all.
I agree with 2 ohm 306's after the batt discharges a bit...very nice hit!

Same here. I've been using them for a couple of months or more. I started with four of the skinny ones, for the EStix Mako, and one charger. It was taking forever for the larger ones to come in, so I ordered three more of the skinny ones from EStix. Then finally, a Reonaut, sorry forgot who, posted that MadVapes had the larger ones, sized like the 18650 battery, so I ordered five of those. MadVapes didn't have the chargers, though, so I ordered two more chargers from EStix. I think they, charger, are $11.99 each. Last I checked MV they said they would be getting the chargers but that's been a week.

The vape, at 5v, is a sweet spot for me too. Good use for standard resistance atty/cartos, from pre Reo stash.

I only have the one charger, right now, (two new ones waiting at UPS store along with new blk/blk Mini {another advantage of having more than one Reo - waiting for new one doesn't "hurt" as much} and the light on wall brick does turn green. Will report about new ones when I use them.

The skinny, Mako 5v, are loose in the Grand and Woody or Woodvil. Other than making a tube for it, to increase diameter, I use a folded over, many times, piece of electric tape, about 2" long to lay in the battery grove, when I use the skinny ones. Some day I'll make it to the hardware store to see if I can find a suitable tube for those.

It will take several charge/use cycles for the 5v Ni-mH batteries to reach full charge capacity. That's the nature of Ni-mH batteries. Experts of these type batteries recommend running them down really low, once a month and immediately recharging. They do suffer from memory affect unlike Lithium based batteries and cells.

Having the 3.7v and the 5v and the 6v batts have convinced me that I would love a Variable Voltage REO

Even if it only went from 4.4 to 5.4 volts :)

Although I hate to put any pressure on Rob, and I don't want anything done to our MAGIC Reos that would reduce reliability, function, etc., I would gladly put my new black ProVari, so far unused (for two months) up for sale. The Reos are just so easy and so hassle free I haven't felt the "need" to use it. Having a big stash of atty/cartos helps fulfill the desire for simulated multi-volt vaping.

Thats great. I can't tell you how many times I had a Provari in my cart.
For two or three months I kept thinking I would get one. Then I thought about dripping or MAP tanks or topping cartos :(:(

Couldn't do it, almost every time i just ordered another REO instead.

The variable voltage and the readout with Ω checking and all that is really the future of vaping .....
But without a days worth of juice on board its just so 2007 :(
its a shame really.
