Is anyone else using the 5V Battery in their Grand or Woodvil?

Experts of these type batteries recommend running them down really low, once a month and immediately recharging. They do suffer from memory affect unlike Lithium based batteries and cells.

Can you recommend a method for achieving this? I've found that by the time these batteries discharge to around 4.3 volts, they pretty much stop firing the atty.

Alright, let me take my OP a little further here. Has anyone tried shoehorning the ElectronicStix 5V for the Mako Maksi (14650 size) into their Mini? Does a 14650 compress the spring too much?

The 14650 is way way bigger then the 14500 cuseguy, there's just no way that 14650 fits in the Mini, NO WAY ! It's dam near as big as the Mini.!!

Question....

Are the 5V that much better than two 3V to justify the cost of a few of them and a charger? I hope so because i already ordered them.

Well they are not actually better at all depending on what Ω atty or carto your using ... Just different.

I like the 5v with a 2.3Ω Joye atty or 3Ω Boge carto.

The 6v is better with the 3.5Ω IKV att .... it will run the 3Ω carto too but it takes a certain kind of juice to hold up to that kinda heat.

Pretty easy to do with a small bulb, like something for cars or even a flashlight bulb. You can tape everything together if you don't have soldering skills and/or find a bulb that is pre-wired. Some chargers have a discharge function. The older, multi, uni, Tenergy charger, I have, has this function. So does the 10 channel Ni-Cad/Ni-MH charger, I have, but the longest battery that will fit in it is a AA.

I thought and reported that I may have ruined my first EStix 5v by discharging them on my Tenergy multi-charger but I didn't. It was that the Tenergy charger wasn't charging them even up to 5v.

Thats great. I can't tell you how many times I had a Provari in my cart.
For two or three months I kept thinking I would get one. Then I thought about dripping or MAP tanks or topping cartos :(:(

Couldn't do it, almost every time i just ordered another REO instead.

The variable voltage and the readout with Ω checking and all that is really the future of vaping .....
But without a days worth of juice on board its just so 2007 :(
its a shame really.

I agree somewhat but there are so many neat cartos coming out that hold a lot or feed that aren't quite as bulky as some of the current ones. I have all sizes of MAP and Storm tanks (and being the geek that I am eagerly awaiting others). They are getting better and better and are only going to get better.

The botom line, though, is that there is not a more elegantly designed and better functioning feeder mod than the Reo. I am glad I have the GGTS, UFS and AVS2, not used yet, but I have to go to GG University before using it. And it certainly doesn't fit very comfortably in my "boob purse" and other small spaces.

My problem with HV ... both 5v and 6v is I seem to loose the flavor much more quickly than 3.7v
What I mean is after 3-5 hours on an atty or carto it seems the taste is gone.

Can you explain to me what do you mean that after 3-5 hours the taste seems gone?

Is this because the batteries are dead? or they're doing something to kill your atty/carto?

Just ordered a REO Grand and trying to do research on 5v/6v batteries =) thx

another question, to you guys using 2.0ohm atties with the 5v, are u guys using LR 2.0? im hoping its LR so i can save some money -.-

Well 2Ω is 2.0Ω :)

I guess it's wether or not you (or the vendor) considers 2.0 ohm to be low resistance.

I consider it to be. The Joye standard resistance is 2.3Ω I figure they are the norm.
So anything below 2.3 I would say is LR

A lot of people hear LR and think 1.5 because thats what started the whole craze though.

So don't get hung up on wether or not a vendor lists 2.0 ohm as LR or not.

If you have two cars with 300 hp engines and one company calls it a "high horsepower" car and the other company calls it a "car" ...... you still have a car with 300 HP :)

That said, the only attys I know of that are 2.0 ohm are Cisco attys ...... thats not going to save you any money.
IKV used to list his as 2.0 ohm but I think he changed to 1.8 .... but the last 5 I got all checked 2.0 though.

haha makes sense ..and that was what i originally thought but wasnt sure.. itll save me money because i have 2.0 atties already -.-

oh and u missed my other question (right above that post) that was directrd to you too ;D

EDIT: dont they say not to use LR attied on anything above 3.7v though?

Nothing to do with the batteries .... Just my big issue with attys in general.
Fresh clean ones taste great but through out the first day the flavor starts going away for me.

My solution is to keep 15 or so attys in rotation and pop a clean on one every day :)
Then I steam clean mine and they come right back to tasting great.

Maybe I am just picky .... I could run the same atty for days but I have all these here and its easy to throw on a clean one to improve the taste.

Thats another reason I use cartos a lot ..... I can keep the same carto on for days and days and it always tastes the same.

But for 5 or 6 volts I haven't found a carto I am happy with. I stick to attys now for HV
