99% of the time atomizers need a wick. Most stock wicks are silica (like in your clearomizer). When people are using rebuildable atomizers (this does not come with a coil or a wick) they have to make their own coil and they often use organic cotton, rayon or stainless steel for their wick.

Does this help you or do you have some more questions regarding your clearomizer? Your clearomizer is very safe. A rebuildable atomizer is not something that is recommended for someone new to vaping. It can be unsafe if you do not know what you are doing or do not have the proper tools to make sure it is safe.

thank u susan . that means we will need either silicon ,cotton or as i read ceramic. but even cotton causes byssinosis as silicon causes silicosis. i have heard rayon for the first time whats that.

Not "silicone". Your clearomizer uses "silica". Silica is very safe. Here is wiki article on Rayon.

And here's a wiki article on Electronic Cigarettes.

yes what i meant was silica. i have read a lot of articles regarding that on this forum itself. i believe probably it needs a study . but i still guess probably better than smoking a paper cigarrete. rayon i read is a synthetic fibre used in card manufacturing industry and a new research is going on it may cause flockworkers lung. what i am asking that somehow if we use a p100 filter to filter particles as we vape can it be helpful

There has not yet been a study done on wicking materials. However, Dr. Farsalinos, who is well known in this community, has said that if he had to choose which was safest he would pick cotton.

In my opinion, I have issues with silica. And rayon is synthetic, so I hesitate to use it. I use either organic cotton balls or Japanese cotton. And the Nautilus' BVC coils are ceramic.

Until studies are done, it's your choice what you feel comfortable using.

The Nautilus' BVC coils are ceramic but they are a crushed ceramic woven into a sort of fabric. They crumble into a gritty mess if you touch them and Aspire has a stainless steel screen over top to help prevent any loose particles from escaping into the vapor. I use a Natilus mini and hope that screen really works.

In the midst of life we are in death, and obsessive concern with probably trivial safety issues seems unlikely to add a day to anyone's life. I view vaping as an obviously safer thing to do than smoking cigarettes, but anyone much concerned about possible health issues is free to not partake. That truck will still snuff you out when it hits you though...

sunshine, true that obsession is a bigger disease than the death itself. i too wont leave vaping just coz of such trivial thing as its far better than smoking. as they say "smoking kills slowly, vaping may kill even slower or may not kill at all and who the damn wants to die fast." so u and me are on the same page on that, but just cause of the human biengs curiosity of finding better alternatives , i guess we need to keep going on , not stopping at anything..... stay stunning...style ur soul...

i was reading a post by badditude and it says that atomizer dosent have a wick does that mean it dosent need silica to vape the liquid as is needed by the clearomizer. please help.

It seems everyone has either forgotten or is not even aware of the 510 drip atomizers?

These are juice attachments which use NO wick material. Some are bridgeless and some are bridged. These are a steel tube with a heating coil inside down near the connector. You add a few drops into the tube, vape a few times, and then will need to add a few more drops to vape a few more times. These are factory-made juice attachments which can be purchased at vape shops or online e-cig stores.

These are different from REBUILDABE drip atomizers, which is a different juice attachment that vapers use by making their own wire coils and own wicks from cotton or silica.
