Still new to this and I keep seeing the word mod thrown around. What exactly is a mod? And it seems the general consensus is that bigger is better. Am I in the minority that I like the slim look of the smaller batteries? I currently have an itastevv and I don't see myself wanting to go with anything larger. I like the feminine look of it (not saying men that have one are feminine but compared to the big honkers out there it looks more svelte). It does everything I need it to do (seems to have more features than most other ones I see out there) and with being able to use it while it charges I don't have the need for a bigger battery. I know if I found something I enjoy I should stick with it but am I really missing out on something by not getting "bigger and better"? Is what I have considered to be good in the eyes of the more experienced? Again I know it comes down to personal preference but I would like some input please.

My feelings are, if you are 100% happy with what you have, stick with it. My concept of going bigger is a longer lasting battery, and at times more vapor production. You already have a variable volt battery, so you already know what that can do as far as vapor production is concern and sometimes even flavor. This is my :2c:

Well, it's as you say. It all comes down to personal preference. The perfect setup is the setup that works for you.
When I first started vaping I was kinda like you. I liked my ego twist, and I thought that the big mods I saw out there looked kinda ridiculous. But it wasn't long before I found myself craving more. And that was when I started upgrading to larger mods.
They gave me the option of more flavour, more vapor and more throat hit.
And I can tell you that some of the things that seemed big and ridiculous too me back then actually seems small too me now.
If you're in doubt weather the setup you have now is the right one for you, my advice to you would be to go to a B&M store too try out some different things.

bigger is not always better. i enjoy my RTA set up on my mod. which is much bigger than RDA set up on mod with hybrid. but sometimes i prefer smaller mod than this huge RTA set up.

mod is just a battery holder. i prefer mech mod, but regulated mods are very popular.

if you don't like mod, then don't use them. whatever works for you.

The twisties to me have been nothing but trouble to say the least but the whole concept behind a regulated mod is that you have buck boost circuitry with a much wider range of volt / wattage / ohm capability's as well as an external high drain protected battery so instead of buying a new VV after the battery gives out you would simply buy more 6.00 $ battery's. You do realize they make mini box mod's now ?

I liked my ego style batts but wanted to be able to have a "deeper" battery that would hold up better under load and be easily swapped for a fresh battery. I decided to go with Mech mods and have been happy with that decision...

As always...what ever trips your trigger is what is right for you. What I like matters not ;)

There is a difference between the twist style ego batteries and a small box mod set for the same power output. I suppose it has something to do with the batteries ability to do what your telling it to do. The smaller batteries just can't keep up for my idea of the perfect vape.

I wanted to make my own coils and that is what lead me down box mod path. I really like the Subtank built with two coils at .6 ohm. That really needs "more power" to work right in my opinion. I miss the ease of sliding the ego in my pocket and walking out the door but the experience is much better with the Subtank.

It's better for me but if your happy with what you have then stick with it. Some drive big trucks, I like my sedan at 450 miles per tank. It's all opinion.

The absolute perfect vaping device doesn't exist. That being said, the absolute best vaping device for you is the one you enjoy using.

PBusardo says in one of his reviews that someone came up to him at a vaping conference and wanted him to review his new device. Phil (I think his name is Phil) said "Is it working for you?" "Yes" says the guy. Phil says "Are you enjoying it" "Yes" says the guy. Phil says "Then it's perfect".

Its mainly down to personal preference. A bigger mod with more power or battery or features or able to fire lower ohm coils is nice to have and gives you more room to grow or play with different stuff. But there is no point it getting it if you don't like it and wont use it.

I have an itaste vw4 and i liked it for a while with my mini naughty. I do still use it but i wanted to try rebuildables and maybe save some cash buying heads. I got the new istick 50w and a lemo tank. The istick (they do it in a girly pink, that may off set the feminine factor) fits nicely into the hand and gives me a lot more options now.

To each their own, what works best for you will always be what works best for you.

In the end tho', form will always follow function. So knowing the function you want goes a long ways in determining the best form.
This year everyone seems to think a box is best, last year the tube was best. In the end it only matters what you think is best.

" Mod " used to refer to a modified flashlight or other type tube or something similar to an altoids tin that had been modified to hold a battery and mount a 510 connector.
Sometimes a switch or spring button was added to tubes (other than flashlight) & boxes similar to altoids tins to make the current flow to the 510 connector.

To me 'mod' in vaping = a power or delivery device you built yourself and/or something a person modified from its original intended use into something that could be used for vaping. ( homemade)

Now days "mod" is an equivocal term used to describe anything that isn't a cigalike.

Size only matters if there is something inside the space that makes the APV more desirable to the user, such as a particular chipset, size of battery, dual batteries or on/inboard juice bottle etc...
Is biggeralways better? no,,, with all the mini size box shape APV's on the market now size is more of a personal preference.

If bigger was always better, we would all be using these:
