Is it my fault?

Hi all, back to vaping after going back to stinkies for a couple years. The scene has changed. I loved my REO back then because it worked. Always. I'm now using an eleaf pico, awesome little thing!

Problem is, i have yet to find a tank that works for me! I started with the new atlantis evo, amazing flavor and vapor production, but i had constant wicking issues with every coil i tried.

A local store put me onto an mk vapes enigma, i see that im having juice caramelize in my top cap. Im between 40 and 60 watts, taking hits no longer than 3 seconds, and it seems that with both tanks, if i dont put it down for several minutes, i get dry-ish hits. Even got one with a properly set up ni200 coil on the evo, vaping between 480 and 550 degrees Fahrenheit.

Am i chain vaping too much, is my setting or expectation too high? Contemplating purchasing a tfv8 baby, not because i want "sikk cloudz", but it seems like i need an overkill tank to keep up with me. Not interested in building coils, would love a tank that has pre made coils, or to figure out my atlantis evo. I've played with airflow, i always prime and let it soak for at least 10 minutes, and I'm sick of buying new tanks every couple weeks trying to find one that works without putting it down for 10 minutes or having to unscrew my top cap to let juice flow into the coils. Any help is appreciated!

I know you don't want to hear this, but you're a prime candidate for rebuildables. Nowadays, you really don't have to actually build coils if you don't want to, since there are so many pre-wrapped coils out there. but you do have to install and wick them.

Were you to go that direction, I'd recommend starting with something like a Griffin 25, pair of wire snippers, pair of scissors, and the little Geek Vape kit that comes with 4 Clapton coils in a battery case with organic cotton. All that would probably set you back less than you're paying for a month's worth of disposable coils. You could also go for a ProTank 4, which comes with 2 Clapton coils already installed and 2 spares in the box. All you have to do is wick with the cotton provided. Either of those RBA's will be able to keep up with you.

So, you think my problems are on the user side, as far as chain vaping too quickly?

While i appreciate the honest response, I'm going to stick with pre made coil options, i value convenience above all else, and would sacrifice some flavor and vapor production to that end. I REALLY want to quit having to fiddle around with my tanks!

Not at all. I chain vape like a freight train. I'm out of the loop these days on disposable coil tanks, I'm sure there are some really good ones, but what convinced me to get into rebuildables was basically all the issues you mentioned. :) I kinda laughed when you mentioned having to open the tank to flood the coils for a good hit, because I used to do that very thing with my old Nautilus.

There's lots of guys and gals here that can recommend you good stuff in your chosen niche. I probably shouldn't have even replied. If you ever decide to go rebuildable, I'm happy to help you get there fast and easy.

I just got a Nautilus X and really like it.
I think maybe you should vape 2 at a time-alternating.
I called the guys at tasty vapor, where i bought it. Those folks are a class act. He assured me that opening my tank in the middle of a session was counterproductive and that i should ignore the lack of bubbles during normal operation. Also didn't recommend going over 480 degrees, which was quite surprising, given that flavor at 540 was as good as most drippers I've tried! I'm not giving up on the evo yet, trying lower temp and more patience. If that doesn't work, going to try the tfv8 baby. I dont see how that thing would possibly be unable to keep up with me, as I'd be going close to the minimum wattages it operates at.

As a side note, not at all impressed with mk vapes enigma. After a day with the .5 coil, far less airflow than atlantis evo, far less flavor, still had wicking issues with minimal usage, and also had long ramp up time with the side effect of getting uncomfortably hot after 4 short pulls at 50 watts, when the coil suggested anything less than 70 watts!

The Nautilus X is a low wattage MTL tank. Not sure if that's what you're looking for.
Ended up picking up a tfv8 baby. Everything i wanted and more. Phenomenal little tank that can certainly keep up with my vaping pace. Highly recommend.

Not sure why the TFV8 Baby Beast isn't getting much love around here but I agree, it's awesome little tank :thumb:
Yeah, I'm still quite enamored with it. Put in an order for a variety of different coils, I'm excited to try them all. Which coil has been your favorite? Any that you werent a fan of?

Only had mine for 2 weeks and the only coil I've tried is the Q2. Just ordered 5-packs of the X4 and the Q2 before reading not-so-great review for the X4, but we'll see.

Not sure how legit sourcemore.com is but they have unbelievable prices on these coils. Ordered Aspire coils from them before and they all looked legit; slow as he!! shipping but that's what you get, right?

If you decide you want to avoid building, and want huge juice inlets and airflow with prebuilt coils, try the Aspire Cleito if you haven't already.

Just threw in the .15 octocoil and it's doing pretty good. I like it a bit more than the q2s

OMG! 510 degrees? Don't blow your face off, LOL
hot apple pie (Apple Butter Clone) tastes pretty good to me at that temp ;).....I would say that it is safe to assume that I do not chain vape as most would think. My tank becomes only a little warm to the touch. I usually only do 4 full lung hits in a row, then I give it a break. Nice to see my lungs healing and not wanting much since I have been lowering the amount I vape naturally. Like for instance, I only vape around 3 mls of 24 mg a day vrs 4 mls of 24mg when I started. My flavored juice has also gone down from 15 mls 6 mg to around 10 mls of 6 mg a day. Depending on what device I decide to use for the day.
