is it normal for menthol to leave a slight bitter note?

Hi. I'm not a menthol fan usually, but I did try a taste of one today and I was pleasantly surprised. It was nice, the cool sensation with the after note of the tobacco. I didn't sense any bitterness, it was actually just a tad sweet. Not a lot to go on, I know, but I would say from that experience that not all menthols have a bitter tone.

I'm new so definitely not an expert, but enjoying the discoveries. Hope you enjoy yours! :toast:

I'm not a huge straight menthol fan for this exact reason. I've gone through bottle after bottle, from vendor after vendor, & almost every one leaves me with a bitter aftertaste. I don't seem to notice it if it's mixed with something though. I've been lurking on the DIY Juices board for a few weeks & I know some of them use a drop of white vinegar, apple cider vinegar, or lemon juice in their mixes to help cut down on the bitterness. I haven't tried adding this to pre-made juices so I can't vouch for it's effectiveness but maybe it's worth looking into?
