just bought some rum essence and some glycerol. i was looking for natural falvours like the brickwalls but it was all i could find. does anyone know if its safe to smoke them? the ingrediants in the rum are: water,pg, flavourings, colour(caramel E150a). in the glycerol...just glycerol (suitable for vegeteraians)...i was going to use the glycerol as a mixer in the future if i get my hands on some e-liquid. anyone have any experience with these? do you think they are safe for the atomizer? the glycerol is sweet. the rum tastes nasty out of the bottle but not sweet. maybe i could mix the two with e-liquid..but not if someone says....STOP..DONT DO IT DAVE.

thanks

You are talking about Vegetable Glycerine, right? If you are talking about glycerol only, I thought this was used as a thickening agent. I have never tried this by itself.

I tried it yesterday, and it gave me a huge big headache.........
I bought it at the supermarket.

After I used it my atomizer stopped working....

I cleaned it out last night.
Put a new cartridge on this morning, and a charged battery.

Have had problems all day long.
Just now, after dripping 4 drops it's working again.
I think it was the rum.
I will not use it again.
Maybe add a little to my bottle of juice I got from E-cig.......don't know yet, I'm a little afraid now.

Note that I've been vaporizing vegetable glycerine I bought at a health food store for some time now. No problems. And Dr. Jim Loi in Malaysia is now substituting glycerine for propylene glycol in his tests. I'm been using one e-cig atomizer combination with factory cartridges and a separate e-cig atomizer for home-made cooked-tobacco fluid with glycerine. I go back and forth in using these two cigs. So far the only difference is my stuff tastes sweeter.

It's been in several threads -- and I intend to try a suggestion from a fellow member here that I use glycerine instead of water for the next batch. Basically, take a small handful of tobacco (I use pipe tobacco) and put it in a small pot. Cover it with water (I'll use vegetable glycerine next time as an experiment). Simmer for an hour or two or three. Never boil. Strain through a coffee filter. Now you have flavoring with some nicotine (how much is anyone's guess).

The final liquid starts with 80% vegetable glycerine and I make very small batches. Very small. Like 4mg or so. Put in the glycerine, add maybe 1mg of your cooked fluid and maybe 6 to 10 drops of flavor (I like vanilla extract). Keep in mind there is no ironclad formula. Try stuff. Use different flavors.

Note that the base glycerine solution is extremely sweet all by itself. My only problem so far is that the final liquid is still too thin. I need to condense it a bit more, to thicken it up. If you try stuff, post it for all of us. Thanks.
