As I said in the other thread, I don't think so. In general battery ampacity varies indirectly with mAh. There are only two batteries I know of I consider safe for vaping (in 18650 size) with even 3000 mAh. Most of them are in the 2100-2500 mAh range. Do you have any more info about the battery, like a manufacturer and/or model number? Can you post a pic, or transcribe exactly what the labeling says? Here's a great link about vape batteries: 18650 Safety Grades -- Picking a Safe Battery to Vape With | E-Cigarette Forum

When i bought my subox mini the seller game me a battery that is wrotten on it 18650 5000mAh 3.7v, i am saying this because when i tried to try the 50 watts it didnt work it was like the battery couldnt supply the power.
DO NOT USE that battery even at 5 watts in your mod. That is a flashlight or somesuch battery. no 18560's with over 3000 mah are safe to use in vaping.
Get a decent 20 amp CDR rated battery.
Keep on using that battery if you don't like your mouth and face.
It WILL vent probably violently if you keep using it at 50 watts.

No. You should NOT Use that Battery.

You Shouldn't use Any Battery that you can Not Identify the specifications of. Or feel Reasonably Confident that it Isn't a Knock-Off.

The battery you posted in another thread is an ICR (Li-ion) battery. It says so on the wrapper. This battery doesn't have the amps required to fire your mod. ICR batteries are obsolete for mod use.

I would not trust any vendor who sold me Li-ion ICR batteries for a mod.

Wouldn't recommend.

Don't know of any 18650 that provides 5000 mah.

I use the Samsung25r with 2,500 mah

And the LG Hg2 if memory serves witg 3,000 mah

You guys just aren't familiar with Chinese Math.
Take whatever it says on the wrapper and divide by 3.
And add 10,000 for the number of years the Chinese have been around. The Chinese were only slowed down by the British polluting the country in opium up to the 1911 Chinese opium revolution. Some of the effects from drug use still shows up in Chinese battery specs.
The battery is not safe until you determine the actual consistent amperage capability.

If it says 5000 mah on the label of and it's an 18650 I wouldn't even try it.
I'd throw it in the trash.

In addition if it isn't a name brand or known battery, even if
properly marked, I'd still throw it in the trash.
Don't chintz on batteries when you are throwing 30 Watts + on a Mod.
I can't stress enough that Vapers should be very careful to avoid low quality batteries.

  • They carry the LG INR18650-HG2. It's a 20A 3000mAh battery.
  • This battery will perform great in your Subox.
Another source for you when looking at all things related to vaping is Fasttech (based in China).
