With what I'm figuring up, since 1/8" is specifically 3.175mm, I just used 3mm.
Looks like around 0.15 ohms?

Let's say 4.2v with the 0.15 ohms. That's around 28 amps if I got the resistance close in my estimate. The VTC5 despite what some vendors claim are 20 amp continuous discharge batteries. Not really smart to do with the VTC5.

Hello and welcome to the forum @Hernandez123. Glad to have you here!:)

You MUST have an ohm reader so you can measure your builds, know how many amps they will draw and check for shorts.

When considering how low you can build you need to give yourself some headroom. I try to never exceed 50% of the CDR (continuous discharge rating) of a fully charged battery (4.2v). So with a 20A battery (like the VTC5's), that would be 10A. This Ohm's Law Calculator tells me that a 0.4Ω build is as low as I would want to use.

The reason that I place a 50% limit is because as a battery ages the mAh of the battery degrades, as the mAh degrades so does the batteries c rating (amp limit). So down the road, a 20A battery may only be a 10A battery."

I highly recommend you spend some time with @Baditude & @Mooch (two of our resident battery/safety experts) and visit their blogs. You are now 100% in control of your own safety (and others around you).

* Another essential read to understand which batteries are safe to use in mechanical and regulated mods. Includes a frequently updated list of recommended safe-chemistry, high-drain batteries with their specifications.

Purple Efest Batteries not as Advertised
* A cautionary blog that reveals that the purple Efest batteries may not have the specifications advertised. Also includes a commentary on "continuous discharge ratings" vs "pulse discharge ratings" of battery specs.

BATTERIES - WHERE TO BUY

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

+1 on the ohm meter. Seriously. I would not go that low (.15) on a mech mod with a VTC5, or anything short of a dual battery parallel box. In fact, even on a parallel I'd probably limit a mech to .2ish or above. If it's a regulated mod, it's probably marginal but OKish. If it were me, I'd add a wrap of two.

I don't have a ohm reader
Ps I'm a noob
So then what's a the lowest resistance the vtc5s can go safely then
howdy - and welcome!

time to get an ohm reader - if you are going to be doing builds that low, you NEED to get an ohm reader

and above advice on battery safety is solid - personally, i would recommend getting a good regulated mod if you want to vape with builds that low in ohms
