Is it suddenly wrong to have been a hippy?

Hippies? Beards and long hair? Anti establishment? I still have the beard after all these years, but the hair and van are gone now. And if anybody has paid any attention to some of my posts on smoking/vaping regulations, I think you know where I stand on the establishment end of things.

Anybody still remember some of "our" posters we plastered all over our walls? A couple I still remember:

Never have so many
Given so much
To gain so little
For so few.

and

I do my thing, you do your thing.
I am not in this world to live up to your expectations.
You are not in this world to live up to mine.
You are you and I am I.
And if, by chance we find each other, it's beautiful.

Now, if you'll all excuse me, I'm gonna go listen to some Country Joe and the Fish. Gimme an F.....

Yes, and I remember all those Hugh Prather (Notes To Myself) and Kahlil Gibran books (The Prophet)

I still remember the lines from Gibran about children, by heart. I read it to my 87 year old mom a few months ago, and she agreed, which sorta suprised me:
"Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you......"

Hippies had a good message, too bad the government gave them all free man-made psychedelics and kept them all intoxicated so they couldn't get out of hand and actually change something. They kept them all entertained with free masonic bands, doped 'em up, and let them roll in the mud all day. Imagine if they weren't given the man-made, mind altering substances and they actually rallied to action and fixed the country..

I actually completely believe this. The gov was definitely behind all that acid. The hippy movement was very close to being a real threat to the global capitalist agenda.

Hippie? whats a Hippie? I though they were just the people I grew up with. Janice, not what call a beautiful voice but sang with all Her heart. And I still love Mercedes Benz. Woodstock? well I don't remember it much as I was only 9 y.o. and too much wacky being smoked around me. Still the music and old movies are fun. So 'wow, cool man" . All the worlds a stage and we're just the players.
