buy 11mg nic unflavored pg/vg, mix to my 70/30 preference, and add comercially prepared flavoring from vendor, to taste. Am I missing something?
Haven't figured the cost of flavorings yet because I haven't started looking at sites for this, but so far this is about half the cost of the liquids I have been buying.

Not quite. The nic base will get diluted when you add plain pg and vg to suit your preferred ratio and I'm not sure you can buy 11mg nic base.

For example, if you want to make 100mls of e-juice and you have a PG nic base of 11% and want 10% flavoring, you'd use 63mls of your PG, 27mls VG, and 10mls of flavor. Since your nic base is the PG, your net result would be about 7mg of nicotine for the 100ml bottle of juice. Even if you mixed PG and VG nic bases, you'd end up with 10mg nicotine after adding flavor.

Thanks caged. 11mg unflavored pg and 11mg unflavored vg is available at madvapes as well as 16,18, ect. Maybe I'd have to go a higher nic level to make up for the dilution of the flavoring. How much the nic in the pg/vg will be diluted is an unknown, as I don't know how much flavoring I will use to suit my taste.

Most people buy a stronger nic base and mix it down with VG and PG. Having said that, if you are fine with 9 or 10 mgs of nicotine, then the nic bases at Mad Vapes will probably work. If not, I'd buy at least a 36mg PG nic base (36mg is good for getting started because it's not so strong it's dangerous -- some people might even vape it at that level), some straight PG, and some straight VG.

I don't know what the prices of that 11mg base from Mad Vapes is, but PG and VG nicotine base is generally much more expensive than plain PG and VG.

Yeah, it is more expensive, I just didn't want to get into have nic around and doing the extra mixing. I am using 11mg liquids at the present and don't want to drop any lower at this time. Maybe I'll change my mind on getting the nic, and straight pg and vg, just starting to think about all this. I need to figure out the e-juice me up calculator to make this all easier. Thanks for your input.
