OK, here goes...

I have been an Ego user for a while (V4L KR8 before that and somewhat satisfied by the EGO)....and this is what I've found...

I love my Ego's, but I am tired of taking 5-10 second drags to get the flavor, TH and vapor that I am looking for. Is it time to move up to a mod?

I really like the idea of a "true" 3.7 as I have not really experienced it (from what I gather Egos are 3.2-3.5). Would that be satisfactory? OR
Would I be more pleased with a 2-3 second drag of of 6.0v?

Chime in everyone!

I was the same. I started with the inferno, and reading here and also using meter I found that it was only at 3.2 volts. I decided to buy a mod and went with a 3.7 box mod kit from madvapes and learned how to solder during assembly. Its a nice upgrade from the inferno. Then I bought stuff for VV from madvapes and with the help from fellow modders I am able to make it work and it is just great. I def not using inferno anymore unless I have to work in a secure building where they may frown on a box mod.

Everyone is different, so it's hard to tell you if a 3.7V, a 5V or a 6V mod will be best for you. You might even be happy with a VV.

I can tell you this; I've been extremely happy vaping at 3.7 with LR atties and cartos. Yes, I did try 5V and 6V and every once in a while I'll still vape those, but I really have to be in the mood.

I use 510 and 801 atties and there is a definite difference between those two!

I have come full circle on the voltages. Started out with an ego, moved to 3.7v box mod both on STD res attys. Then moved to variable voltage with the infinity, now I am back at 3.7v with an LR atty.

It's all about personal preference. The VV helps with that a lot. You can find what wattage you like using ohms law and adjust your hardware accordingly.

If you haven't already done so order a couple of LR atty's. Try something in the 1.7-2.0 ohm range. 1.5's are a bit low for the eGo circuitry and may cause a problem. LR's are meant to simulate HV vaping and will definitely give you more vapor and throat hit.

If you've already done that you could try a cheap boxmod to see if that'll do it for you. If you can solder and have a soldering iron laying around order a kit from Madvapes, a couple of batteries, and a charger. The whole works will run you around $30. If the kit isn't your thing just order one already built and it'll still be about $45 or so. Although boxmods are relatively inexpensive they'll vape just as well as any other 3.7v mod. They're just not quite as durable. If you like it you can get a more expensive mod that uses the same batt's and charger later on. The BB and Alpha from Altsmoke are great aluminum tube mods that'll take the same batt's and are more durable.

If you want a cig-like hit, I'd say 5v or vv... vv is probably preferable, but a fixed 5v is easy with 5v passthroughs if you wish to try it. If 5v PT trial, get a AC USB adapter capable of 2.0 amps or more, and 3.0 ohm atties.

I use 5v box mods, and outside of possibly vv, it's the best, most cig-like hit. I don't personally see a reason to go HR atties and 6v, since 5v is more than enough for me and it uses standard 3.0 atomizers.

For that quick of a drag, you need at least 5 volts imho. Then you get into fast burnout of your attys and cartos if you're not careful. 5 volts and duel coils might work. Hopefully some more will kick in with what they are using and you might want to search over in the mod forum a little to see what can take the heat and still hold up.

I too was somewhat satisfied with my ego.. then I got a 5v box from madvapes and didn't like it.. too hot. I like using lr boge cartos with my riva (which is 3.7) and my 3.7 box mods. Madvapes sells a cheap ($35) vv box mod that most seem to like.. it would be a good way for you to find out if you like the higher voltage and if not, then you've still got something that you can use and play around with voltage.

ok...here we go...

I have a 5v pt from V4L....it hits wonderfully easy (like really very easy and I dont have to take 10 second draws from that).....is that what I am looking for....I really like the "effortless" draw that I get from that PS....with that said.....I would like to have that "ease" in my everyday allday vape...

And I understand how difficult this is for you to provide "answers"...

Thank you Everyone!

The 510 gives a bigger throat hit and a little less flavor. The 801 gives more flavor and just a little less throat hit. Both will produce lots of vapor. I can also put more drops in the 801 so it will last a little longer before I need to add more.
