I can't help you on the jump, I went from Blu to the Provari. I researched, thought about how long I'd be using it versus the cost of cigarettes and decided I'd go for it. I have not been disappointed. As others have done, I bought a second one. I've tried a progression of toppers; Protanks, atomizers, and carto tanks. When time and finances allow, I may try a rba. The Provari allows me to grow in my vaping experience at my own pace. Each step keeps getting better because I have a solid base to build on. I highly recommend it but you have to decide what's right for you.

I went from eGo to ProVari. I was going to wait until my 1 year anniversary but cheated at 4 months. It was my only vape for 12 months until this past Xmas, when I bought a mech. I love my mech to bits but my ProVari is still my go to device. Only you can decide if the price works for you but if you look at the math others have thrown around you will see that it isn't really too bad, even when compared to the "cheap" mech mods.

This is my story too, except that I got into bottom-feeders instead of mechanicals. After I bought my first ProVari (once you have one, nothing else is really good enough for back-up) I bought a Vamo to find out what all the hoopla was about. I have to admit, it's worth the roughly $30 I paid for it. I rarely use it though, since I don't like having to baby my gear and with the 510 connector and button issues, I'm afraid it's too delicate for me. When people say they can buy 4 Vamos for the price of 1 ProVari, I think it's because they anticipate they will have to at some point.

I love my ProVari. I threw it in my purse tonight; I actually lost it down in the bottom somewhere and had to dig around for it later. Of course, it was perfectly fine, bouncing around with all the junk I carry around and being thrown onto the backseat a few times. The only other mod I treat so casually is my Reo. I like 'em built like tanks. :)

Going from an eGo style to a Provari? That's not the way it's done.. you have to go through several hundred dollars worth of other stuff and proclaim that they are just as good before you finally cave and buy a provari

But seriously.. only you can decide that. I went through the above scenario and found that yes, it IS worth it to me. Any problems you may encounter, Provape will fix for free during the first year and for a very reasonable price after the that.

Is that a Kurgan wrap I see before me? And, appropriately topped with a Russian! Good Form!

Kurgan: Who is the woman?
Ramirez: She's MINE!
Kurgan: Ah! Not for much longer...

Let me take this from another angle - and some day we may settle this question in an FAQ, "Is The Provari Worth It LOL":

My first mod was a Provari. I have since amassed GG, Paps, Billet Box and Super-T - high-end mechs that are considered fancier and prettier than the Provari.

I still use my Provari. A lot, considering how many mods I have.

When I convert smokers to vaping, if their budget allows, I get them straight on a Provari plus Protank. Even those without the budget are spending $10+ per day on analogs, so I start them off with an iTaste VV 3.0 (great little mod) and a clearo, just to get them used to the concept of vaping. I don't need to convince them to upgrade to a Provari - they see me outside the office, blowing ginormous clouds, and they come to me telling me they want that as well.

Sure, there are VW mods out there that ar every good, but the Provari is built like a tank - mil spec - and is backed up by real customer service from a real company.

Just get one. Get a generic color like black or silver or polished, nothing weird, if you think you might not like it, and you can sell it for close to what you bought it in the classies.

As close to zero risk as it gets.

I come by the provari sub-forum every so often just to answer this question. Get one.

...

So that's my question in your opinion is a provari worth the price? ...

Are you asking if it is Worth the Price for Me? Or are you Asking if I think it would be Worth the Price for You?

For me, I spent a Lot of Money on Hardware before I got to a Provari. And all it is Either No Longer Works or didn't work all that great when it was New.

But my first Provari is about Two Years Old and Works like they Day I got it. And Looks about the Same Also. So on Quality alone, I could make the case that it is Almost worth the Price. Almost, but Not Quite there.

But what puts the Provari over the Top is how it feels in my Hand. It's hard to Explain in Text. But there is a Feel that I get when I hold something that is Quality Made.

Is it Worth the Price for You. I dunno.

I don't think Anyone can tell you, not even Yourself, until you Hold/Use one for a Little Bit?

Just Curious. How much did you spend a Month on Cigarettes when you Smoked?

Thank you everyone for the input. After reading the replies I realized my actual question was is the provari of the quality build, and materials and providing function that justified the price. It apparently is based on what I'm reading here. So now... what color unit, and what color led??? And what to top it with... oh my.

Satin with a Blue LED is the ONLY way to go.

"So it was Said. So it was Written. So it Will be Done."

The color scheme matches that of the Dallas Cowboys rather nicely, does it not. Here, let me share a picture to illustrate...

Notice how the satin matches the silver pom-poms rather closely, and the blue LED, while a shade off, is pretty darn close to the uniform blue. With a white drip tip, or delrin ring (or both) I think it would be spot on!

Hello, pretty! There can be only one mod worthy of the Kurgan wrap! I've been jealous of it since I first saw a pic.

That is what I did, and I didn't go from a variable voltage eGo either. I went from an nonadjustable 1100mAh starter kit. I made a kick ... choice.

This sort of fits into my buying habit with other hobbies. Get introduce, research on the best, and go for the ultimate solution on the first go.

Whichever color speaks to your heart and chooses you.

Polished Stainless Steel is VERY shiny. Some of us consider it a fingerprint magnet, but most of the time that doesn't show up very much and can be easily wiped off. This is the most durable finish, in that any scratches can be buffed out. Down in the ProVape suppliers forum there is a sticky on how to care for this finish.

Silver Satin (my personal favorite) is bead-blasted stainless steel. I like the neutral color, it goes with any color tank, drip tip, wrap or sleeve you choose. Also, should it be dropped and get scratched it hardly shows.

The remaining finishes are Cerakote, a very durable coating used on firearms. However, despite being very durable the finish can show wear after awhile and scratches are more noticeable than with the ss finishes (although they are fairly hard to scratch). Most of us consider dings to be a sign of character. For extra protection or if it gets dinged or if you buy a used one that looks banged up, you can put a wrap on the ProVari or a sleeve. Some colors are currently offered at a lower price, as they are being phased out in favor of the new two-toned colors.

LED colors are personal choice. The red is quite bright, which some people prefer as they consider it easiest to read. It is also the default color. Green (which to me looks sort of yellowish) is the next brightest. Blue seems to be the most popular. It's a pretty shade and easy on the eyes. Green and blue cost $15.00 more. Usually people choose the LED color which best complements the body color they select.

Let's see....mod progression...Apollo eGo kit, then on to Innokin MVP, Smoktech SID, Sigelei 13a, Kamry K100, Silver Bullet, Vmod XL, Reo Mini 14500, E-pipe Mods Rhodesian, and finally Provari v2 and Provari Mini v2.5. As of right now, all are gone except the 2 Provari, the K100 (sitting in the vape box collecting dust), and the Epipe is waiting on a pending trade. In fairness, I liked the Reo but got a version that was too small for my needs, probably will end up adding a bigger battery one to the collection, but all of the others are sold, traded, or pif'd. My only gripe with the Provari is that I wish I had gotten 2 Minis, I like the battery versatility and aesthetic design better, might end up trading my full sized and getting another mini down the road.
