I have been using ribbon off and on, it can be a fiddly pain in the .... It's really springy even flamed. But if you get it right it's awesome. I have better luck wrapping smaller diameter coils than I do with larger. I really like it with cotton, the wicks seam to last longer, maybe because it has a larger surface area and spreads the heat out?

I've been using it exclusively of late. It does much better in my igo wound tight around a 1/16 than it did as a larger coil. Good flavor, dense vape. To be honest though, I prolly won't spring for more unless the price drops to competitive prices for round wire. Still have enough to try a few more configurations. Next up is a teeny 2+ ohms with doubled over legs. Gonna try and get it opposite the negative post to leave room for wick on both sides of the coil, as the little bit of cotton that sticks out of the neg side gets gunked up really fast.

I guess I'm the odd one out. I prefer a 30 gauge micro coil. I've tried the ribbon wire a few ways, and I just don't enjoy the vape as much as a micro coil.

Same here.

I hear ya man, I pre-ordered like a mile of all different sizes from Temco. I think their's are gonna be better than what I've been using. The prices are sweet !

Yup temco is awesome. If my wife and I have another child it's middle name will be Temco. Boy or girl..

I saw that micro coil thread and am intrigued. Don't believe I can do it with my 32 gauge. Does it work in the evod style heads?

Dude, I'm at such a loss - the only RBAs I know are bottom fed for my squeeze boxes. I wish I could answer that. Most users report fantastic results regardless of the application, as long as it supports small diameter, many wrap coils :)

Yep, a microcoil of 32 gauge will work well in an EVOD. Just do about 10 wraps over a 1/16" drill bit as close together as you can, then carefully pinch the coil together with some flat tweezers and heat it up with a lighter. Thread the drill bit back through to make sure the coils are as perfect as possible, then install it in the EVOD head. Thread some cotton through, so it just fits and slides easily. Lay about twice as much cotton as that over the top, press the center tube in and trim it up. Fill up your juice and let it soak for 15 minutes or so, then vape away. It might taste like cotton for the first 10 or so drags, but it goes away.

For the RBA, you can make a similar coil, but maybe with only 8 wraps. Otherwise you can fold over a length of 32 gauge and twist it to make something like 29 gauge resistance. I don't know how well twisted wire works in a microcoil, but you can just make a normal 0.9-1.0 ohm coil with it and it will work pretty well.

Thanks for the tutorial! Does this work for silica as well or just cotton? Sounds like it's easy.
