Okay so I'm two days into using an e-cig and I love it!

I bought the joye ego and it came with two atomizers.

I followed the procedures to blowing the atomizer first before using it. From the start the first atomizer had been too harsh to smoke. I thought it was normal and had to get used to it. Anyways I had friends come over and ended up showing it off. They tried it and loved it, but also said it was extremely harsh. I ended up letting my friend use my second one for the night and used a different flavor. When he used it he said there was absolutely no harshness to it. So I tried it and he was right. So I thought maybe it was just the liquid I used that was causing the harshness. So out of curiosity I tried the "harsh" liquid on the second one and it wasn't harsh at all. I looked at the atomizer of my "broken" one and there wasn't any fibers or anything interfering with the atomizer. I've even tried directly dripping into the atomizer without the filler and it's still harsh.

So I'm wondering did I just get a bad one or could there be any other causes?

hey chill, you didnt indicate what type of atty it is ( not that that is an issue) you are having issues with but once in a while that can happen to an atty. See if you can send it back for replacement. Always have a lot of attys on hand if you can so it doesnt become an issue that we hear so much around here: I ran out of attys and now cant use my ecig.. good luck!

Atomizers take time to break in, some longer than others. It can range from 1/2 an hour to a day or so. But sometimes that's just the way they are. It could also be that it's a lower resistance than the other one. If it's a problem you can try contacting your hardware supplier and explain the situation and maybe they'll replace it.

cskent is most likely correct. Some eGos were being shipped with 1 standard and 1 Low Resistence atty. Some LR's are stamped w/LR on the bottom by the center hole. to be sure you could always check it w/a multi meter. a LR will be between 1.5 and 2.0 ohms. They will produces a warmer more vaporous cloud than a standard resistance atty. Hold on to it since after a few weeks you may find that is exactly what you are looking for.

I woulnt give up on it. make sure you have three drops in there after blowing it out. even repeat the process a couple of times to "rinse" any bad flavor out of there, if you have plenty of juice. Dont do that if you are running low and need to conserve. It could be that it had more primer than the other.

For dripping, I use LR306 attys. They rock!!!!!! Joye, cisco, and Ikenvape all make them. I use Joye, and they are just fine. I get them at Lberty Flights. make sure to click on the save 20 percent in the upper left of the home screen first. I order 5 packs (I drip mostly) They work awesome on my ego. Make sure to order a drip tip for the 306, as they will not work with your cone, unless you have the drip tip. The flavor, vapor and thoat hit are awesome.

Attys dont last forever, but remember to keep them moist, and never let them go dry. If it floods, blow it out, but only put 3 drops in after blowing out. I am on week 4 on my latest LR306, but the first one only last me a week or so. Attys are not all exactly the same, some just work better than others as someone mentioned above.

For Cartomizers, I would have to recommend bogge cartomizers (which are basically an atty with a built in juice reservioir so you dont have to drip all day long)

The Ce2s just dont seem up to snuff in my opiniion, but they do have their benifits over the bogge.

Hope that helps.
