I have an istick and a nautilus Mini with the BVC 1.8 ohm coil. I know there is a +/- tolerance with the ohms on the coils and my istick has always shown it to be 1.9 ohms. It just recently changed to 2.0 ohms. Does that mean my coil is going out? I haven't noticed anything different with flavor or vape cloud etc. I have used this coil for about 4 weeks now and I vape about 2 ml of 50/50 clear juice per day with wattage varying between 7-12 watts. I know that 4 months is a good life span for a coil but this is only the first coil that I've ever used so I have nothing to compare it to. I was just expecting dry hits or burnt taste when it starts to go.

Resistance can go up or down in a small range just from use. After 4 weeks use the resistance is going to build up due to the coil burning your ejuice. Even clear juices have ingredients that will collect and burn on the heated coils.
You can try some of the various cleaning methods posted on the forum.

Correct, resistance will most likely go up as the coil is used. Change when you start to get a bad taste, less vapor, etc. You'll know when it's time. That's a long time for a coil but if it's still good, roll with it. Personally I don't clean coils as they're pretty cheap and folks haven't had good results dry burning the BVCs.

I used to get about 1 week max out of a BVC coil. Never bothered to clean, cheap to replace with new one.
Jumped on the Nauty/BVC bandwagon when they first came out. Thought they were amazing.
Now, not so much since I've updated to RDA's then RBA's.
There is just no comparison - for flavor or clouds.
Now I have a thousand tanks and coils just collecting dust. Expensive lessons learned. Damn media hype!

For me there are two ways to know if it is time to change a coil, and clearo or rebuildable it is the same. First is the taste goes off. Second is vapor production significantly changes.

I have loads of stuff just collecting dust since I got into rebuilding 8 months ago. Fun thing though is to mod out a stock tank. It is how I started rebuilding really. I did not like the airflow on the Aspire Nautilus (mini is too small for me) so I took off the adjustment ring. Still did not like it so I drilled it out. Did not like that so I got a KFL+ v2 clone and drilled it out, did not like that so I did the same to a Kayfun 3.1. Did not like that so I got an Orchid V4. LOVED the Orchid so I got 3 more!

With the Orchid's I added Kayfun accessories and now my old tanks and drippers just sit there. I actually was cleaning up the other day and found some of my Kanger ProTank II's including a new in box spare glass piece . I tossed them because they were all nasty with old juice.
