Is my coil shot?

I have been using an evod 2 for a little less than a week now and I am really enjoying it. Last night though it started tasting bad and a slight burnt taste to it. I was exactly sober at the time so I thought it was just impaired judgement. This morning is it better than last night but far from great. I am not getting much flavor at all and even a slight off taste.

I was thinking this could be from the coil but I had it about 5 days as of last night and I heard that usually every two weeks with moderate use is when they typically go. I also found that you can expect to get about 30ml of juice through them before replacing and I doubt I have even used 10.

Is it the coil, or something else?

Your coil could be bad yes, have you tried cleaning it yet?
Others will chime in real quick too about dry burning, Youtube is a great place to learn about dry burning coils.

My wife pulls a remarkable face if she ever gets a dry hit or burnt taste; she likens it to burning rope.

Unless you are on a severe budget, replace the head. If you ARE on a severe budget, learn to rebuild them (some of us do it just for fun and that extra control over the vape).
Or get less sober and keep using it

If taken care of (cleaning) your coil can go very far

Some people just replace them as soon as they get a slight burnt taste.

But like supertrunker said, learning to rebuild them is quite fun and cheap

You ought to look up a quick dry burn as Sue suggested. I used to rinse mine out and dry burn them every juice change. It extends the life a little, but nothing can repair a shot coil.

Don't forget to let it sit about 5 min after changing the coil and refilling. You don't want to get that "DRY" hit again

Yes, do save your old ones. I have 8 boxes of old coils that I've rebuilt. It's actually quite a rush the first time you rebuild one and it works better than the ones you bought.

Well I changed out the coil and let it soak for at least 30 minutes and it is better, but still not right. It doesn't taste burnt at all but the flavor still isn't right. Maybe it is just in my head at this point but I am using my favorite juice (i've found so far) and it just doesn't taste good.

How long have you been vaping for? Sometimes when vaping we all get vape tounge. Vaping is dehydrative. If you have cleaned the atty, you might just have a little vape tounge and need to drink some water to clean out your taste buds. (this only applies to lack of or wrong flavor, not burnt taste)

Do make sure you're drinking plenty of water/juice (alcohol and coffee are dehydrating)

I went through that "flat" stage for a while - you will get through it (and if you start rebuilding, you'll find things will taste even more amazing!!!!)
