I concur with @Coastal Cowboy your hardware probably isn’t damaged but your coil cartridge is almost certainly toast. Plus there’s all the smoke particles that will have gotten literally everywhere inside your atty. it will likely need to be completely disassembled and thoroughly cleaned

thats what i did but it still smells really burnt
Then it wasn’t thoroughly cleaned enough. Smoke particulate is microscopic and gets in everything. I burned a pork roast in a toaster oven once and stunk up my whole kitchen. I had to wipe literally everything down with enzyme cleaner to get rid of it. I’m really really not sure enzyme cleaner would be a good idea in a vape though.

Did you replace your O-rings? Your tank probably came with a spare set, and sometimes that smell/taste can get trapped in the rubber.

I might also check your batteries in case they overheated (they are likely fine, but it's always good to check-- unless it's an internal battery mod.

If you can't get rid of the taste, also maybe soak your tank components in alcohol overnight, then rinse very thoroughly (some people use everclear, since it's a tank, not rubbing alcohol but even that would be okay as long as you rinse thoroughly).

Make sure EVERY part of the tank is washed, and maybe swab around the connection between the tank and mod in case any of that burnt juice got in there, and if it were me I'd wipe down the mod with alcohol as well, in case there is any juice that leaked on it (as that would cause a continued burnt smell).

If the mod is firing fine, however, you may need a tank replacement, but using these methods you may have better luck.

Good luck,

Anna

Yes. Completely remove the mod from the tank, and disassemble EVERYTHING (might want to grab your user manual and keep track if it's a complicated tank so you can reassemble easily). EVERYTHING you can take apart, take apart (including the glass) and clean WELL. Replace your O-rings (the little rubber pieces in your tank) if yours came with a spare set. You may need to soak overnight, but you have to wash EVERYTHING not just replace the coil.

^^^ also i know from personal experience buying a good vape that it came with a spare glass for the tank. if you have one, replace the current one with the spare.

Really yes we need to know what you are using the device, and tank and we could help a bit more. Cleaning the tank is going to be the second place to start you already did the first thing which is toss out that coil. When you can please let us know what you have so maybe we can help a bit more in how to clean and replace (if you need to)

ok so i got an melo 3 atomizer and the smell is nearly gone since yesterday. I cleaned out the entire thing and replaced the coil. I think it is not necessary to replace the O-Rings.
That’s handy. The reminder of the burnt flavor should disappear slowly over time. Unless you do it again of course :p

Agreeing with all about replacing the coil. That'd normally do it.

But another thing I like to do, re cleaning the entire kit - is I use a small sized plastic container and I dissasemble my tank as much as I can. Glass out and their rubber rings. And I fill the container with enough water to cover everything and microwave 'em.

Cleans it up well. I boil it all up in the micro twice (it's amazing how discoloured the water is on the first boil up). I like to see it boiling for a minute - so you'll need to work out the time yourself... the time to come to the boil, plus a minute of boiling.
