Is the AW IMR 18650 3.7v 2000mAh the right battery?

Since it's an accurate regulated mod, either will work. Outside of a regulated mod the 2000mAh are kinda garbage. They have a really crappy discharge curve on them... but if you're not using a regulated device there are several better options than either AW in 650 size batteries for both low & high amp draws anyways. I've never run them side-by-side, but I doubt you're going to get that much more life out of the 2000mAh than the 1600mAh, just because of that steep initial drop.

The State of Confusion
Efest now has a 2500 mAh 35A battery.

EFEST PURPLE IMR 35a 18650 2500mAh HIGH DRAIN BATTERY Li-Mn BUTTON & FLAT TOP

Again, because the Provari is a highly regulated mod the amperage rating is really irrelevant unless you are using sub ohm cartridges properly broken in running at higher voltages.

For instance the Kanger .8 dual coils, or the new Kanger Turbo tank that uses two dual coils which would give you .4 ohms.

Essentially the higher the mAh the longer the run time...generally.

I use the Kanger .8 ohm dual coil at 4.2 to 5.2 volts and the standart AW or Efest IMR 18650' last me about a half a day, but then again I am a vapaholic!

I just ordered some and I will follow up and let you know how they do....

A good charger is also VERY important!

The XTAR VP-1 is one of the best! I feel it is better than the Pila offered from Provape!

Those "35" amp purple Efests are actually only 20 amp continuous. The 35 is the "pulse or burst" rating.

The Provarii (version 1.0 - 2.5) can only use button-top batteries.

The Provari will not fire a coil below 1.2 ohm consistantly.

Provape still recommends using only AW IMR batteries for a Provari.

A few questions about battery charging for the Provari or I guess any other battery operated mod. I'm use to the MVP2 and have always been charging it when it read 3.8 volts. I'm using the AW IMR 18650 and I'm not really sure how low I should allow them to get before recharging. I'm really not sure how much time I will have left to vape if I go below 3.8 volts. The other question is with the charge. Should I be using the .5 amp setting or 1 amp setting on the charger? Does it make any difference in battery life?

Thanks

The Provari has over-discharge protection, so you can't over-drain a battery in a Provari. The fire button will start blinking when the battery voltage drops around 3.4 volts, continue to blink at a faster rate until 3.3 volts, and then refuse to fire until a new battery is installed. You'll get approximately an hour's worth of battery time once the button begins blinking.

You can use the 1 amp setting on the charger with the 18650 and 18490 batteries. The 18350 batteries should be charged at the 0.5 amp setting.

It's easier on the batteries if you use the lower amp settings. It will increase the time to charge, but if that isn't an issue, then it is worth doing just to prolong battery life.

Being retired I have plenty of time to wait a little longer. Thanks for the expert advice.
