Hey all, me again to ask more inane questions!

After I asked about the 2 piece models for a few friends, I recommended all of them to a K808 (hope I got that correct) ...

Well I looked on the Blu website today and the shipping time is actually reasonable. The price is right, for the starter kit.

Still, are they any good? I don't see many raving reviews about them, just that they are OK and come with the charging pack which is pretty cool.

Anyone have a Blu kit? Good or bad?

Thanks again!

Save your money. I started on them and its a wonder I stayed with ecigs long enough to find a much better model. batteries that crapped out in a day, miniscule carts, and horrible customer service. On top of all that I recently received a letter telling me that the charger pack that I got with the kit is defective and is a fire hazard, at this point I don't care because I had stopped using it for the last three months. The only nice thing I can say is they got me started on ecigs and off analogues after 26 years.

I started with one, and it got me off analogues. Mine worked great as long as you get the foil off after you snap a cart on, and take long slow even drags. I thought it was the perfect beginner ecig.

Buy, I only bought one battery for 9.95, two attys for 9.95, the usb charger for 9.95, and then to save more money I ordered carts from volcanocigs.com.
They fit the blu, and the inner cart is bigger/holds more liquid. You can get two packs of 5 carts for 8-9 bucks. Instead of being forced to buy 25 dollars worth of carts from blu....

So was only about 40 bucks to start instead of buying the kit because once you try it, and learn more, you'll probably want to buy a different ecig after that. After my blu I moved on to the 510 and now have way too many e-cigs!

Hope this helps!

I got my e-cigs from blucigs to start with but didn't get their starter kit. I felt that waiting 4-6weeks to get a product like that was too long. So I ordered some of the pieces seperately. They came in about 2weeks tops. At first I was fine with their e-cigs. The carts didn't last as long as they claimed to. The battery power was ok for me. Customer service said the battery would last for at least two carts. Mine died about a cart and a half way through. Having the chargers helped. I never got the blu pack. The problems that I mainly had with blucigs were that their atomizers didn't last that long (about 2weeks for me) and their cartridges leaked, alot. There is nothing good about having pure liquid nicotine dropped on your lips. Trust me. At first I thought it was just one or two carts, but ALL of their carts leaked. Not to mention when the carts leak, that actually cuts down the amount of vapor each one produces. I found out that leaky carts can damage and kill your attys.

I called Customer Service and told them what was happening. They replied that the atomizer wasn't working right and that they were gonna send me a new one. That hasn't come yet and its been almost 2months! After I realized it was taking too long for them to send it and that I didn't want my other attys to stop working, I decided to find another company to get e-cigs from. I came across volcano e-cigs. They actually used the same e-cig models as blucigs and the same sized carts. However the rep from Volcano said that they always get new shipment of products and that their manufacturer gives them better working versions every so often. Plus it took less than a week(!) for me to get my product from them. I ordered their deluxe kit with the charger pack and have been good ever since.

Volcano's flavors taste better than blucigs, their carts last longer, and their batteries are top notch too. So now, I order from them. Plus you can order packs of carts individually, and the more you order, the more the prices go down. I ordered 10 packs of cartridges and got them for $3 each! Their customer service is great too, cuz my first order they forgot to send something, then sent me two for the mistake! I used the code epuffdirect and get %10 off my order.

Volcano just told me that they have disposable e-cigs now too. Ya digg??

My first e-cig was an overpriced NJoy. I hear a lot of similar problems with the NJoy and Blu.

If I had found this site before purchasing my first e-cig I would have bought a 510 and bypassed my POS NJoy.

I would recommend a 510 kit to any of my friends interested in e-cigs. It's been my most reliable e-cig for the 5 months I've been vaping.

Blu has gotten mixed reviews. The Joye510 is my personal favorite and one of the most popular. It's a three piece unit that delivers excellent vapor and throat hit. In the running is also the KR808D-1 which is a very simple 2 piece cartomizer model. I recommend going with the 510. If you decide you want to try the KR808D-1 there is an adapter ($7 at heaven-gifts) that will allow you to use cartomizers. If you do go with the KR808D-1 you can also use the DSE901 atomizers (similar to the Joye510). I think there's an adapter to use Joye510 atomizers on the KR808D-1 but I haven't seen it around anywhere.

The general consensus is that if you get the Blu you're kinda screwed. But it's still better than cigarettes!

P.S. Do a little research and maybe watch a couple of YouTube videos to see them in use. That's what helped me when I first started.

blu is not a good ecig, The juice they use does not produce much vapor and as soon as the cup in the cart gets slightly low the cart dies completely, I still use it but only refill with dawns redhot juice. Its the only flavor that I can actually taste on it. diyflavorshack.com for the redhots!
