Ok, so I have been at this for a while and have heard time and again how Blu sucks. I get that. But what I want to know from experienced vapors is what sucks about the Blu? I have never owned one, but a buddy of mine does. Its his first ecig and frankly his experience is not vast enough to really tell me what sucks about it.

Other Q's about the Blu:

1) Is the Blu just a crappy version of the 40x Series, or is it a different model or proprietary threading? For clarification, could one use the Blu PCC for a 40x series or other model ecig from a reputable manufacturer?

2)How awful are their cart flavors? I have heard a small few people like them, but I hear from at least 90% of Blu owners that they are awful. Just want some opinions on this as frankly the carts do not seem to be that expensive.

3) Has anyone seen anywhere where you can buy a PCC that is the Blu's at a low or decent price? I would be interested in possibly modding one work with a 510, but don't want to pay an arm and a leg for one just to try this.

ymmv but....i started with a BLU-type(branded to a different name)
the biggest downside for me was the size of the cart. however i wouldn't say that it sucked. just too small for my tastes. most of my problems with them were more than likely operator error due to newbie-ness.

mine uses 510 threads i bought an adapter for 510 batts to 901 cart and it works ok battery life is not all that, but it works. it has been a nice backup.

the cart flavors are only as awful as the juice that YOU put in them. i dont see flavor as a problem at all. you can replace the poly-fill stuff and re-fill your carts. compared to a KR808 (what i use now) there is a lot of maintenance for the carts.

i paid 1.99 for my 510 to 901 adapter. waited for 10 business days to get it from china. from heaven gifts. with shipping was 5 bucks.

i have not seen a pcc for it or a passthru either for that matter. i havent looked either. i used my blu-type for a month and it did get me by till i graduated to bigger and better things. i do carry it with me most of the time, i use it as a demonstrator.:D

i prefer my kr808/901.

The BLU is a JSB L88B. Its threading is the same as a 510. What sucks about the BLU is the transfer of fluid from the cart to the wick. To call it slow is an understatement. They actually work OK for their size if you drip or dip. The cart flavors are OK, standard JSB liquids. Some people really like them. In the near future, Johnson Creek will be making their fluids. The price for BLU isn't bad considering what they include. You can by the packs from them, from Volcano or probably from China. They don't charge all that much for it. Now if you want the same pack for a 510 both Revolver and Volcano offer different versions of the JSB product. To compare the BLU to something twice its size isn't exactly fair. I happen to have a Volcano. It isn't my favorite, but it does work as long as I don't depend on the crappy cartridge.

Thank you both for the responses. Now you have me curious, does a standard 510 batt fit in the pack? Obviously it would screw on as it uses the same threads, but would it fit in there and pack actually close is what I'm wondering. As previously stated got a buddy who has a blu, hates its, and is moving on to a new PV. I'm considering buying his old kit of him if I can get it to charge the 510 batts. Then again I suppose I could just use the Blu batts and attached a 510 atty to it, or for that matter a cartomizer using a 510 - 808 adapter.

I would consider getting 510 carts to use on those batts. it's what i was going to do next as well. but i needed to know what threads my 'blu' had first, so i purchased the adapter just to see.

i have tried a 901 atomizer w/adapter and 808 carts w/adapter.
in my opinion the cartomizers/808's did not breath well enough to keep the cart from burning up. but the 901/atomizer worked better. now that i know the threads are 510's i am going to get an atomizer and carts for the 510 to see how it works. i just want to try to use the batts without the adapter. i mean they are good batts, they will just go to waste if i dont.

Personally I like my Blu, even though it is my back up. I have 2 friends that bought them too... mind you this is AFTER I let them try both my Blu and my 510.

As far as their flavors go I thought the Mocha and Menthol were pretty good. Couldn't really taste the rest. One thing I have noticed in their carts though after pulling out the stuffing to refill is that I have some that have 2x the stuffing inside then others *shrug*

Also the 510 does not fit in the pack, mainly because of the button. The sidewalls of the slots is too thin and will jam the manual button down if you try to stick it in. The 510 is also fatter and does not slide into the foam well. you would have to do some modding for sure to get it to fit right. (I just tried while typing this).

The threading is the same. In fact I use Blu attys on my 510 because its so much easier to drip on then the regular 510 atty, and they are cheap; 2 for $10.

I like the feel and package of Blu. Problem I found was that I spent so much time refilling the carts once I found out how to do it. So I just sold it to someone who wanted to try vaping. Now they want a Trog's Screwdriver for the same reason. Longer battery and ability to use carts, cartomizers, 510/901, and DRIP.

Blu is a good entry but gets boring pretty quickly. Not very cost effective and too proprietary on the parts.

Just my 2 cents.

I bought a Blu as an impulse buy when jumping into my first PV purchase. I soon learned that the carts were far too small to be practical. The battery life is pretty low but the PCC kinda makes up for it. I ended up getting a 520 to 901 adapter and used them with KR808 cartos until I moved onto a Joye Stick V3 and then a Vypr 510. Overall, it's not such a bad device as much as it is misleading; hindsight is always 20/20 though. Also, the attys are pretty serviceable when you're dripping on them.

Volcanoecigs.com now sells the Magma, which is a 510. You can buy the M-pack-which is the PCC for $14.99. It works great, you just have to mod it for Manual batteries as it is designed for autos.

Also, the Blu/Volcano works well with dipping instead of dripping. Just put a bit of e-juice in a contact lens case and dip the atty in the juice for a few seconds then pop a blank cart on and vape. Easier then dripping since you aren't messing with the bottle.

Finally got some juice and started dripping on my volcano. LIFE IS GOOD! Black Walnut is a friend of mine. First I tried to refill some carts, but I think I just overfilled them. I will be getting some foam and try that in the carts. Right now I'm quite content dripping. Although I did get some funny looks at the bar the other night. LOL.
