Is the Paypal restriction on the e cig just for sellers or for the personal users???

IMHO, ordering from a company that doesn't accept credit cards as payment is generally not a good idea, regardless of what product you're buying. Any company worth two cents has been around long enough and can afford the moderate convenience fees associated with processing credit cards. I have also been repeatedly burned by Paypal and lost money with them, so I don't generally recommend using them at all.

From what I can find, it just says "transactions" but isn't specific to buyers or sellers. I would assume it goes both ways. They don't allow e-cigarette (or any tobacco) transactions, in general. But I really don't know the answer to that. You can always email Paypal *snicker*. PP isn't a bank. They play by their own set of rules and can ban your account and take your money for any reason they like. Even if they don't specifically say users can't buy e-cig related stuff, I wouldn't be surprised if your account got suspended for doing such a thing.

I can see your point - however, using PayPal is always safer than broadcasting your credit card information across the internet. The only safer thing you can do is buy a Visa Gift Card for a specific amount and then use it for specific purchases.

I've never heard about anyone's PayPal account being suspended for making e-cig purchases, but many examples of seller's being "dinged."

I know a couple people banned for life from paypal for both buying and selling items restricted by paypal, none for e-cig stuff but I'm sure they can if they wanted to.

WTF?? I've used paypal for most of my ecig related purchass. Screw them! Prohibited items? As long as the product is legal (and even if it's not?) what gives paypal the right to inquire about my private transaction? What about a co that sells allowed and "banned" items? Am I supposed to tell payapl what I bought or didn't buy? What a joke!!

Ebay can ban stuff if they want, that's different, but the fact that they ban legal products is troubling. They're a marketplace and can regulate what they allow or don't... like a mall banning pornography.

Paypal's job is to transfer the funds. Period. It would be like the bank going over my checks and asking what I bought or the credit card company reviewing my statements for unapproved items. For anyone to inquire or know or care what legal products we spend money on is crazy and shouldn't be tolerated. Talk about big brother.... And we pay them for this?

If paypal bans the legal products we want and intrudes into our private transactions then they should be boycotted until their policies change or business should be taken from them and switched to other checkout services.

edit: I don't see anything in paypal's restrictions that would include PV's or even juice. They're not tobacco or tobacco related (there are many sources of nicotine).

ebay allows herbal vaporizers but not PV's? PV's are not e-cigs. If I were a vendor..... lol

edit: Nothing in ebay's banned items that blocks the sale of PV's.

*

Any item containing tobacco and intended for consumption
*

Blunts or cigar wraps
*

Chewing tobacco
*

Cigarettes (including flavored cigarettes)
*

Cigars
*

Cuban cigars (see our embargoed goods and prohibited countries policy)
*

Dipping tobacco
*

Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) or accessories
*

Herbal cigarettes or herbal tobacco (sometimes called nicotine-free cigarettes or tobacco-free cigarettes)
*

Hookah or Shisha molasses that contains tobacco
*

Including photos of cigarettes, cigars, and other tobacco items when selling cigar bands, collectible packaging, or other accessories
*

Loose leaf tobacco
*

Nicotine inhalers or nasal sprays (see our medical drugs and devices policy)
*

Pipe tobacco
*

Smokeless tobacco

.................................................

If I were a vendor I'd sell PV's with non-nicotine juice. If they tried to block it there would be a great case because PV's are not e-cigs and as long as nicotine isn't included or sold with that intent there shouldn't be any problem. Ban this!!

Any vendors out there want someone to challenge ebay on this for them???? PM me!!!

It seems e-cigs are banned from fleabay and paypal, but I don't like using PayPal if I can help it. It's nice to do a quick deal on fleabay, but when something goes wrong you get burned. I got scammed for $400 using a "paypal protected item" because the seller duped a bunch of people then cleared out his account. 90 days later paypal gave me $11 and change saying that is all that they could recover and it had to be divided with the other members that got burned as well. I called chase who promptly did a chargeback which ...... off paypal who in return froze my account. I had to re-register with paypal using a different card and bank account number because they froze everything that had to do with my other account.

Check out your credit card company, many have virtual account numbers which makes it really easy. If the seller is a little shakey I make a virtual number with exact change on it then use it. If I want to buy more from them I increase the limit or just get another virtual number. All of the same protection applies as if you were using your card except it has a tiny limit and you can even lock it to a specific vendor, if they screw you just call the card and it will be fixed very fast.

CapeCod, Paypal bans many items it doesn't want to deal with. Did you notice the niconite inhaler? They don't deal gray area, it's black or white what they feel they want to deal with. It's funny though because you can buy shisha and water pipes, but not PVs lol

Well, that's just it, PP isn't a bank and they can pretty much do what they want and make their own rules. I've had money held for ludicrous reasons and really dislike using them at all. There's no recourse that you have, unless you use your CC with your account and then you could go through your CC company. If you complain to them and ask why they did what they did, they'll just say "'cause we said so." and that's about all you'll get out of their long-winded mumbo-jumbo rules bull. I sell stuff through commission online in a large store and am paid through PP, so I got one of their debit cards. I've been told they don't do this to everyone but every time I've used it, they take double the amount I put on it and hold it all until "the funds clear" which, in their time, can take as long as two weeks. What? If I have money in my PP account and use my PP debit card....how can the funds not clear immediately? If I don't have all the funds (say I use the PP debit card for a $25 purchase but only have $30 in there) they will put a hold on the rest in my checking account, so they'll take the whole $30 in my PP and then hold $20 from my checking account. They'll "refund" the other $25 once they determined the PP funds are there. Disgusting practice.

The only reason behind their madness that I can think of is that they're using people's money to grow interest for their own pockets. They aren't a bank...but they absolutely earn interest on every dollar we keep in our PP accounts and we will never see it. Now, I transfer funds as soon as I get them, even if it's only a few dollars. They can kiss my .....

I've purchased e-cig supplies, juices, carts, etc., from a couple of different retailers using PP with no problems thus far. Just made a purchase this afternoon, in fact, which now I'm suddenly worried about it, not really sure why, though, since I've used PP several times when paying for the same type of merchandise with no problems. I use PP because its linked directly to my various bank accounts and I can choose which account I want to use when making a purchase, even if I don't have the card with me, such as if I'm too lazy to get off my .... and go find my purse!
