Ive had this mod for a few months, got it at a vape shop. Used to have a smok alien with all sorts of problems and was recommended this by the store owner. So far Ive had no problems, but yesterday I heard on the news about a vape mod explosion resulting in death which has led to some paranoia. This mod doesnt seem as popular as something like smok, so I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about this brand and whether or not this is a safe box mod or if I should get something like a vaporesso polar which I heard has many safety features.

Yeah, it’s making national news in its many various versions. I’ve read or heard described so far 4 different reports with 3 different versions of the event.

At any rate the consensus seems to be that the device he was using was most likely an old style unventilated tube mech. A device with no electronics or safety features at all. They’re generally considered prohibitively dangerous locally.

That is NOT what you have.

It takes something of a perfect storm to turn a lithium battery into a bomb. Your device doesn’t have any of the features that made such a thing possible. Quite the opposite actually.

The only way I could see even a battery vent taking place (as opposed to an actual explosion) in your situation is if you took the batteries out of your mod and placed them bare in your pocket along with your keys and change or other metal objects that could short out the battery’s unprotected contacts.

Simply putting your batteries in a battery case when you leave them out is enough to prevent this.

Kami, you've got a regulated mod. So you have little to worry about.

In the news that is trending on the forums the mod in question is speculated to be an unregulated one, and in inexperienced hands they are literally a pipe bomb.
They also have to be unventilated to actually be able to explode. I take your point though. Dude has nothing to worry about.

Let's just say it is way safer than an unregulated, mechanical mod.

And probably safer than a SMOK regulated mod. SMOK may be a popular brand, but on this forum they are recognized as low quality.

"We make cheap. You buy cheap. It break. You buy another."

Mooch just made a video for his You Tube channel that deals with the subject of how safe is a regulated mod?
