These are 2 completely different atty designs. 1 is a 3/4 post atty with lots of air flow and the other a 2 post atty with lots of airflow. The mutation looks to have a bigger chamber so it might make bigger clouds and the Velocity a bit more flavor. But they are very simular, and I have tried neither.

I have a fasttech velocity clone and gotta say it works amazing for a 12 dollar clone.

I don't have a Mutation, but I'm EXTREMELY pleased with the versatility of my velocity. I got mine from Focalecig so I could get the bottom feed adapter pin. $10 each. Got four of 'em.

I'm kinda klutzy, and the build deck on the Velocity is right up my alley

thanks for all the replies guys, I'm just having some leaking issues pairing my mxv4 with an ipv3 Li, though a lot less than before after changing my wicking style. my only gripe is that the lack of another o-ring below the bottom airflow control is still causing juice to leak below the atty, no matter how much I fiddle with it lol.

I'm just curious if anyone's having any issues with bottom leakage of any kind with the velocity? I'm sold based on the clone pricing for the velocity, but the wideness of the wide bore drip tip on the velocity kinda scares me transitioning from the mxv4... I'm afraid it's gonna be almost as obnoxious as the dark horse I let go a couple months back :(

Edit: I really like wide bore drip tips, just not as wide as the one on the dark horse lol

The velocity doesn't have bottom air, so there's no chance of it leaking from the bottom. I've never had any leaking issues with my clone. It comes with an adapter to use a regular 510 drip top, so you can use any drip tip you want to use.

As you can see I'm using a standard drip tip.
