Is there a real drip tip that fits the Stainless Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer?

I love them except the condensation collects in the rubber whistle tip and ends up in my mouth every hour or so prompting me to find the nearest tissue and sink to give the rubber whistle tip a cleaning. These are the best dual coil yet for 5.0v... but getting juice in my mouth takes a lot away from the good vaping experience.

The whistle tip on this carto...

...is the same size and style as the Echo carto tip. Therefor it will use an 801 drip tip.

BTW Six, the 510 DCSMC absolutely rocks on the MadVapes VV box. Looks good also.

Thanks for the info on the 801 drip tip. I really like the mega DC, but I really hate getting juice in my mouth and there is no avoiding it with the rubber whistle tip. That tip collects juice condensation and can't shed it. Even when my regular drip tips collect some condensation, it tends to run back down in to the carto, and when it doesn't, I can just twist a piece of tissue or paper towel and run it through the drip tip. With the rubber ones being whistle tip, that isn't so easy.

I'm still waffling on the VV box. After getting the 5.0v ni-mh batts, my 18650s are now completely neglected, and I really want to find something for them to do. There is a dual 18650 VV box out there, but I'm having trouble justifying a hundred bucks for a plastic mod.

I've added and removed madvapes VV box from my cart about 10 times now for a couple of reasons: First is the 14500s (battery life with multi-coils). And the other reason is that I'm pretty satisfied with my 5.0v regulated mod and the 5.0v ni-mh batts. The regulated mod is about perfect with the mega DC and the TCs and the ni-mh batts are about perfect with the standard DCs.

Vaping was easier when all I had was an original rough stack and a couple of 510 batts ;)

Yeah, the 14500's drain fairly fast with DC and VV. Personally, I only do VV at home. So I came to the realization that an extra set or two ($9) of 14500's was cheaper than an 18650 mod.

I do keep looking at that 5V batt though. Since that's where I normally set the VV dial, might be a nice simple solution.

The 5.0v ni-mh is sort of a strange battery. There are a couple of threads about it in this sub-forum. - It doesn't seem to have a high C rating and pushes the 1.5 ohm DCs at around 4.3v under load. What makes it a little odd is that it comes off the charger at 5.7v and dies somewhere around 4.5v. Between 5.7 and about 4.8, it produces pretty close to the same load voltage. It drops off fast once it's down below 4.8, but for nearly the entire discharge range, it produces pretty much the exact same load voltage. That is a lot different than a li-on and how IMR is 'supposed' to act. -- That 4.8 to 4.5 range when it is dying out happens really fast with a dual coil. It's like falling off a cliff. As soon as it hits the tipping point, it's pretty much done. You'll get a great vape on one drag and on the next, it's half what you expect and 15 minutes later, it's just done.

A little follow-up about the drip tip size.

801 is a no-go. It does not work.

These vape better than the standard XL dual coils at 5.0v regulated. I think it is due to larger capacity = more mass and therefore more thermal energy is required to heat them up to the point of scorching juice. Also, the alrger capacity means there is more juice and they stay wet longer. At 5.0v, these are my favorite of all the multi-coils I've tried. The triple coil comes close, but has the same capacity as the regular XL dual coil so it dries out just as fast (but no scorching until it is almost completely empty - standard XL dual coil at 5.0v starts to scorch at about 2/3 empty).

Juice in my mouth every 45 minutes or an hour makes them not worth it to me even though they vape so well.

I suppose I could put a wooden dowel in a pencil sharpener and then tap it in to the end of the carto to expand it just enough to accept an 801 drip tip, but at over two bucks each, I'd be bummed out every time I over did it and made one too big.

If you take a standard size carto condom and push it into the top of the xxl upside down until it touches the batting, then cut off the end that is sticking out, it will take normal 510 drip tips. They will feel a little loose but they seal completely and they will stay in if you throw the xxl in your pocket or something.

I'll try that. It makes sense. Thanks!

I use all sizes of the dual coils and I've found the best tip to be the Ming tip from Cherry Vapes.

"All Sizes" of dual coils has changed quite a bit in the last couple of weeks. There is a clear mega DC that is a little bigger around than an eGo mega type-A. there is the steel mega DC that is just slightly smaller in diameter than an 801 (that's the one I'm discussing in this thread), there is an eGo mega Dual Coil that is the same as an eGo mega type-B. There are now also some standard length 510 dc cartos in steel, XL length in steel and clear, and a couple of others I haven't even tried yet.
