I'm seriously considering the svoemesto Kayfun Lite V2 atomizer. Well I'm going to purchase the svoemesto after watching hours of youtube videos. I can afford the real unit so a clone isn't in the cards for me. I would like to find a thread where I can ask and eventually help other svoemesto owners. Thank you.

I'm looking for the same thing. I just purchased a Svoemesto Semovar V3 and Kayfun Lite Plus a few days back. Similar situation to you. Watched all the videos and I suppose there's nothing like getting hands on. I'm having one or two issues....but I'm getting there. Keeping an eye on this thread whilst looking for a solution to my last problem of it whistling, which is something I didn't notice in videos I'd watched...until I got it...and now watching the videos I hear it there too! Having said that, it's a great vape...really worth it. Just trying to sort that - hopefully without drilling - and it'll be perfect.

We seem to be in the same boat. You even added the V3. From watching the videos there just seem to be a few differences between the Svoemesto and the clones, but enough to make me decide on what I really want. I don't think you can duplicate quality in a clone. The whistle seems to be present as I've heard it in several videos. Who knows that may be good news. I know my cartos crackle when they are vaping great. I'm still not sure what size Kanthal to use to achieve 1.5 ohm and what type of cotton and where to purchase it. So I'm way behind you.

I've been fortunate enough not to have to buy a clone before, but even with a genuine Vamo V5 and an Innokin SVD which both failed and were returned...they have not come close to the quality of the the V3, so I'd highly recommend it...the menu on the Nivel chip takes a bit of getting used to but just because I can never remember when to stop pressing as I turned off the display when firing to conserve battery which also switches off the 'ON' Menu display. The Standby menu shows up as you press when it's off..it that makes sense. The Kayfun I have resorted tonight to a little bit of sellotape over the hole and pierced and that tiny bit of tape on the edge has stopped the problem, but it's not the prettiest. My Aerotank crackles when it's firing and I love that. I'm using .28 Kanthal A1 with a 2mm bar and 8 wraps gives me 1.4 although I've been experimenting up to 2.1 Ohms (12 wraps) as I read that this was the sweet spot for the V3. I'm perhaps not finely tuned enough yet as I can't tell a great difference apart from the 2.1 being far more conservative with the juice. Still vaping great. Cotton...I'm using organic cotton which I bought from a local drug store and it's fine too. You should take a look at the new members section as there's currently a thread regarding cotton going on just now which you've maybe seen.
I just hope that the V3 lasts like my MVP 2.0. That thing just works. Great mod. You're only a few days behind me. It's amazing how quickly you learn when you really want to!

I'll watch it. How is your vape? Better then before?

Definitely better. It's a bigger vape than the Aerotank was giving. Even more airy, which is amazing. I went back to the Aerotank after a day with the Kayfun and I would say it's the first time I've found it to be constricted. I have the airflow screw out as far as it will go and now I see what folk mean when they talk about an RBA being more flavoursome. It works well on the MVP 2.0 as well, but looks superb on the V3...the only downside of the V3 is the smooth finish is very smooth...almost slide in the hand. I only have the 18650 and with my Efest 2000 mAh I'm getting around 20 minutes vape time which isn't as much as I expected, so have ordered Panasonic 3400mAh, but I'd also like one of the 18350 tubes for a smaller vape to take out in the car.

Have you seen these coil tools? They'll hopefully give you a starting point for your Kanthal. Mess around with the settings to get what you want and you shouldn't be too far off.

I have an authentic Kayfun Lite-Plus v2. No problems at all with it.

I started out using cotton ball for a wick, then switched to cotton yarn, and have now switched again to braided / hollow Ekowool silica.

I use Kanthal 28 AWG wrapped 8 times around a 2.8mm (7/64") rod. That gets me a 1.6 ohm coil that I feed 9.5 watts.

The larger 7/16" rod allows me to insert 2 pieces of the 2mm Ekowool through the coil. The doubled-up Ekowool is pulled through the coil with the piece of wire you see in the 1st photo, then cut to length.

Here are some photos of the coil and wick:
(BTW ... The photos below are using cotton yarn, but using braided 2mm Ekowool is the exact same principle)

Just watched the video and bookmarked it to go back to. Great video and I enjoyed how calm he was and how he went through each step.I have a MVP2 as well as the VV3. I guess I need to figure out how many ohms are needed to get a great vape on the MVP2. I appreciate all the links and I went ahead and ordered my Kayfun Lite 2. I hope this thread doesn't fade away. Thank you again.

Great post. I especially like the way you get the Ekowool through. Such a simple idea but will make a world of difference to me!

Kayfun on an MVP2, I've been trying at 1.6 to 2.0 ohms. Skip to 13 minutes into this video to see the numbers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTrQPngaIm8 Phil isn't excited about the MVP2 but I love mine also. In fact, I haven't seen any of the new box mods that is really better for use with a Kayfun at my preferred wattage settings.

I suggest to start to have 28 gauge and 30 gauge wire for your Kayfuns. On a #0 precision screwdriver, 7 wraps of 28g is about 1.1 ohms and 7 wraps of 30 g is about 1.85 ohms. Just add or subtract wraps from those starting points to get close to your desired build. That will get you started and give you a great vaping experience.

Organic cotton works great and is cheap. Your local drug store should have some. I say organic because it's all cotton with no poly filler material. Rayon does wick faster but I don't think it tastes better in my Kayfun. Once you do a few builds, you'll find that the Kayfun is really easy to mount a coil and wick. (I hope :) )

Problem with most Kayfun clones are restricted juice channels and crappy deck screws compared to the authentic. People blame "Kayfun" for dry hits but it's usually because their clone doesn't have the channels for proper "self wicking" action that a Kayfun operates. I know, I have 1 authentic and 5 clones. Doh!

Thanks I did bookmark Phils review of the MVP 2. Since you use the MVP2 on your Kayfun were you able to use the 1.1 ohm coils and what voltage or wattage did you use for the best flavor using cotton?

I too have noticed so many complaints about the Kayfun lite with stripped screws, leaking, flooding, the small juice channels etc. Only to find out they bought a cheap clone and blame Kayfun for the problems. What I don't understand is how some companies in China actually put the Svoemesto name and logo on their cheap fakes.

Just to give an update. Wrapped .28 Kanthal A1 at 1.37 Ohms and it's certainly the best vape yet. That was on a 2mm bar. And I solved the problem with the whistling, which was driving me, my Fiancee and my dog from the other side of the house daft! I already had the airflow screw out as far as it would go and I just thought I'd try removing the screw altogether...No whistle. Plus an added bonus if your mod isn't the V3 is that there's absolutely no chance at all of it becoming stuck when removing the KL+. I'm going to have to buy another as I like changing flavours too much. Oh and for what it's worth, I was having the occasional leak but I finally found a guaranteed way not to leak. Top fill the Kayfun with finger over the hole, but only enough to line the bottom of the Tank...not even up to the window. Line up the threads and turn over and screw in completely. Just as you would have seen on any video about the Kayfun Lite Plus. Then bottom fill. The main thing is not to fill it as far to start with as shown in videos online. Just enough to create the seal. I was finding when I filled it up to the bottom of the top ring, I was still getting leaks. This has solved the problem. It takes a little longer to prepare this way, but well worth a try if you're having problems. No gurgling, not even a hint of a leak...even with the really thin juice I'm using.
