Is there a trick to keep flavor wicks from falling apart?

To me, the most annoying part of dry burning is removing the flavor wicks. It doesn't seem to matter if I take them out carefully with my fingers or with tweezers, they tend to want to unravel. I can usually aviod them falling apart completely and sometimes roll them back together, but its annoying! It can't be just me, can it?

As cheap as the newer Kanger heads are, I rarely dryburn anymore. When I did with the original T3, I didn’t try to reuse the loose wicks. You can get a piece of wick pretty cheap and just cut a new one each time.

I'd rather not dry burn but even though I don't use a thick or dark juice my coils don't seem to last very long with just rinsing. :( Any chance you could point me in the right direction of where to buy wick?

You can replace the wicks with cotton from 100% cotton balls, the coils on the OEM heads are pretty delicate.
Just pull out the old wick gently and insert new cotton wick. Several postings here on how to with pictures.
Here's a thread with pictures, he uses cheesecloth, but principal the same...

Thanks. I've seen some of these posts, and while i find them intriguing, don't think I'm quite ready to start rebuillding heads all together. Unfortunately I lack both the time and patience:blush:

This is where I bought silica wick. I used one piece of 2mm wick in place of the two loose oem wicks. If I got burnt tasting hits after replacing the wick, I would pull out one or two strands of the new wick.
