After further research (I am a newbie) I realized I got sold a fake Kanger product. I'm guessing I have to just suck if up as a loss. Is there anything I can do?

Where did you get it from if it was a local B&M go back and talk to them. Chances are you are SOL. What did you buy?

I'm guess by the tone and thread that it's defective, so you can probally get another clone from wherever you got it. Many clones are quite alright.

Does it work? Clones are not necessarily a bad thing as long as you didn't pay the same price as the real deal... and if they work, of course.

I bought a pack of 5 Protank 2 clones from fasttech for $35. I knew I was taking a gamble, but they turned out to be absolutely fine.

Did you your box come with a scratch off to prove if it was real or not?

No scratch off.

It works, but it gives the juice a funny taste.

Try cleaning it in soapy water. Probably has oil on it from manufacturing. You should dry burn or replace the coil too. You're not burning the juice are you?

Sorry you got ripped off, I bought 2 on ebay for a very low price but they are real, scratch off stickers and everything. I did notice there is a lot of fakes out there.

One you have completely cleaned the tank and filled it up, make sure and prime the atomizer before engaging the battery. Otherwise you will be getting "dry hits". Just thought I would put this out there in case you did not know.

Sorry you got ripped off. With big purchases the genuine products usually have scratch codes. That is one way to tell genuine products but I don't think coils come with scratch codes but I'm not sure. I wind my own coils. I would email the seller and confront them.

Had that problem with a kanger evod clone. I put in a genuine kanger replacement coil, and bam! Tastes great. Try putting a genuine coil in it and give it another shot

Exactly this. Even if it is a knockoff (and there are TONS of them out there, especially the Kanger EVODs seem to have been ripped off by a couple dozen companies now), they will still usually use authentic heads.

Sacrifice the juice that is in there, clean out the tank by letting it soak in everclear, vodka, or any other pure grain alcohol to help eliminate any residual machine oil that may be in it, rinse it out with soapy water, rinse it again REAL good with clean water, then pop in an authentic head. Should work just as well.
