I'm going to crosspost something I put over at the e-cig subreddit:
"Hey all, finally back into vaping. Vaped for two years and went back to analogs for a while. Not fun. Anyways, I've got two Vivi Novas here and some TastyVapor juice on my old Knight Rider VV and well.. I feel like something is off here. The performance and taste just isn't what I expected. There are many factors to consider here. The mod is old, the batteries are old, the mod doesn't allow dual coils past a certain voltage (are the Novas considered dual coil?..), and I know some people had issues with certain TV juices in the Novas (which TV is working on). But I'd also like to make sure it isn't the Novas themselves. I've heard people "trim the wicks" and what not. I used to always de-wick my atomizers, so is there something like that that I should do to improve these things? And if so, can anyone link to or provide some instructions?
EDIT - Trimmed the wicks back on one. At first I thought I took off way too much (had to have been at least half of the damn thing..) but after trying it out it honestly seems much better. At some point I'm going to try messing with the coil. I took a look and it is VERY tightly wound. Perhaps too tight."
Anyone else have some tips for the Nova? I'd really like to get in there and make the coil a bit looser, but I'm not really sure how and I'm worried I'll screw something up.
