So Cal
I was just a bit worried because from what I have deduced from lots of reading on forums.
It seems that 1ml of 18mg e-liquid equates to about 7 legacy cigarettes.
I was pleased that she had been using the equivalent of 11 or 12 legacy cigarettes which was close to her 12 or so a day before starting to vape.
Now she is exceeding that "equivalency", if the information I have found is close to accurate.

Truly, there's no way to really work out a proper equivalency - it all depends on your equipment, how you vape, etc. As I said, I wouldn't even give it a second thought unless you had good reason to think she had a health problem which was aggravated by nicotine. I smoked a pack a day, and by your calculations I would be smoking a gazillion packs LOL Obviously my overall improved health begs otherwise! There's a lot of misinformation on the forums...

to reaffirm what has already been said, nicotine isn't equivalent to cigarettes. cigarettes have tar, carbon monoxide, and 2000 other chemicals. Nicotine by itself isn't unhealthy. Based on my experience, and ever other vaper I've heard from, your mom is loving vaping.

If you buy 6mg tribeca next sale, if you mix 50/50 6mg with 18mg you get 18 + 6 / 2, which I believe is 12mg.

also halons get 10% off juice everyday, I'm sure you already know this.

I don't normally bother to order juice as I have a great local shop that has a once a week deal of 1/2 off all juice; that makes it $10 for a 50ml bottle. Or if I don't want to commit to that much of a single flavor $2.50 for 10ml and there are 20ml @ $4.50 and 30ml @ $7.

Not sure what shops are like other places but maybe check around.

Just adding a couple thoughts -
First, seems like you're getting good advice!
I agree - one of the things about vaping is that there's not really any harm in vaping a LOT. So many of us DO increase usage, because we're enjoying it! Even if Mom's not into the flavors, she's clearly getting something satisfying out of drawing on the device...

1) You can creatively cut down her nicotine, and even do it gradually. If you've got 18, and buy some 12, you can mix them in equal parts, and guess what? You've got 15 mg. I reduced my nic like this, just to see what would happen. Nothing happened. I couldn't tell the difference between 18 and 16. Then a couple weeks later, between 16 and 14, etc.

2) I liked Halo Tribeca, a lot. It was one of the flavors that motivated me to try to mix my own e-liquid. Now, my FAVORITE FLAVOR, which I like better than I liked Tribeca, costs me...ready?...about $1.65 for 30 mls. Just something to consider if you have some time to read DIY threads, and to try a couple recipes to see if she'd be happy with home-mixed e-liquid. This also makes it VERY simple to reduce the nic a little at a time if you want... You may end up with her happily vaping with nearly no nicotine, just as a habit...

Nearest Vape store to me is 50 miles away. I am not inclined to drive that far, just to find out what they have. My Mom also seems contest with Tribeca. I have searched for a substitute, but since I am not inclined to experiment when I have to order online.
Best to stay with what works. She likes it and we like the fact that there is very little smell.

If she's happy with Tribeca you're absolutely right to stick with it. She may very well vape that and only that for the rest of her life!

I have a friend who is starting to mix his own. It seems there is a learning curve to get it right. Since I don't vape or smoke, I would not have a clue of what I was making.

Wow totally understand. If it was that far I'd order too.

I'm spoiled there's shops as close as 2 miles from home for me and I believe 11 total locations in town (7 shops if counting by name lol 2 of them have multiple locations) and I've been to most of them if for no other reason but to see what the atmosphere is like because I'm likely to spend a little more on something at a place that is more friendly.

iTiger, your situation is not common. The vape places near me are hit or miss. All but one are more expensive than online. That one is about $18 for a 30ml.

Vape shops are great for trying out a lot of flavors, being able to see other gear and meeting fellow vapers. I don't think any of this is for the Doc's mom.

Doc, I agree 100% with your buying strategy. The best value is during a sale, getting over $75 for free priority shipping, making sure you hit the points amounts after discounts.

At the last 15% sale, the value is at 6 bottles, $101.95 after discount, full points for breaking 100 (halfway to a free bottle), and free shipping. btw, that's when it's best to claim the bonus points bottle if you earned it beforehand. (getting double points when offered is also huge; the above 6 bottle example would earn you a free bottle on your next order).

Doc, with Mom's situation, the only other flavor I'd recommend giving a 7ml try is Midnight Apple.

Not at all if you have a recipe you're following - it's just like cooking! Now coming up with your own flavors, yes - different story!

You've gotten a ton of good advice, but I do want to add...

Nicotine has been proven many times to slow or halt the progression of Alzheimer's and dementia. So I wouldn't be too concerned unless she is suddenly getting adverse reactions like high heart rate or headaches. I can feel when I have had too much nicotine and it usually causes those things and nausea. If she isn't having trouble with any of those things, the nicotine is actually helping her brain function. Good luck!
