I just got my sampler yesterday and for some reason they all taste and smell nearly the same. They all have a very sweet/rich scent and flavor that makes me feel sorta ill. I did like the rush flavor and strawberry wasnt bad then i tried black cherry and it all went downhill. Now my atty is stuck with that very rich/sweet flavor and smell. So then i decided to smell the rest and all of them except the 2 coffees and the aforementioned all smelled and tasted that way. Is this normal? ive read it because they use tobacco absolute base? in any case they are unusuable to me. oh well you live, you learn. right?

Personally, I'm not a fan of artificial cherry flavor. It just tastes like cough syrup to me, but when we did our tester trial I sent the samples to people who do enjoy cherry flavors (I don't, never have) and they all gave the okay on the flavor. So might the problem be that you dislike cough syrup flavor as I do and the flavor just stuck to your atomizer?

Give the flavors a few more days. I sent you an email regarding the possibility of flavor taint to high heat that has happened a few times in transit to the Western states. This is also an option as it doesn't seem to affect all of the flavors, only a select few.

Keep me posted! :)

Yeah I honestly think it's something to do with either the essential tobacco oils or tobacco absolute that just doesn't work for me. I thank you for your quick replies. My wife doesn't seem to mind the flavor so maybe it's just me being sensitive to certain characteristics of the ingredients used in your juices. If all else fails I will save them for her since she can tolerate it. I did use another atomizer (new) with the terimisu and it tasted exactly like the rest smelled. So basically it's just not a product for me I guess. Oh I forgot to add the the cafe espresso also had that taste and scent but it was covered pretty well by the coffee I suppose. Thanx for your time and responses.

What I have noticed is that if I am chain vaping (which I am usually doing) and if I do not drink anything for a while, I completely loose the flavor, but it happens with any flavor from any vendor I have tried. I just drink some water, and everything goes back to normal, full flavor and TH, this has happened to me with full pg, full vg and mix liquids.

Speaking of drinks, I am not a huge beer drinker (or alcohol in general), but when I do, VS Cherrywood is excellent, it is not to sweet or to harsh to kill the beer flavor. If this one does not end up being my all day vape, it is going to be my going-out-vape, hands down (unless my next batch from VS points me in a different direction).

I've had the exact same reaction. I've noticed that another vendor's nicotine juice seems to have a peppery undertone, so I just assumed that VS has the undertone you and I are picking up on.

I ordered on 8-13, the pkg left Coppell, TX on 8-19, and was rec'd here 240 miles away on 8-21 - so I don't think prolonged exposure to heat was the problem, or wouldn't expect it to be, at any rate, as I receive pkgs w/in 3-4 days from Tuscon, AZ frequently with no apparent ill effect?

ETA: I'm vaping some Berry Mint now, and that hard to explain flavor is still there, but not as prominent. Interestingly, the juices seem thinner now, as well.

Which nicotine strength did you order, Shanagan?

That peppery flavor you're picking up on is likely the nicotine itself. The higher you go in nicotine strength, the harsher, warmer and more "peppery" the vapor produced from it tends to be. When I first began vaping I purchased 24mg - of course these liquids were from another company whose liquids were actually Chinese-manufactured unlike ours, and were just complete crap. I soon lowered to 16mg because the liquid I purchased was just too harsh and peppery for my liking. When I did lower the nicotine strength neither one of the two properties mentioned before were present, at least not noticeably so. I'm now alternating between 5mg and 10mg exclusively and all of our own VS flavors are dead on for me. Have you purchased 16+mg nicotine from other companies? Was the peppery flavor prominent in all of them? Is it present in ours for you? What is the undertone you're picking up from our liquids exactly? Have you tried lower nicotine strengths, and if so, was the undertone as pronounced? It's hard for me to personally test the properties of the higher nicotine liquids because high nicotine content just hurts my throat so darn much I can't even willingly inhale it, but we do use testers before releasing new flavors whose nicotine preferences vary through all of the nicotine levels we offer.

Sorry about all the questions, I'm just trying to sort out the details. If it comes down to it I can always lower the tobacco undertone in our liquids (And yes, we do use tobacco flavorings in ALL of our liquids), but I'm afraid many of our long-standing customers would beat me up. It really boils down to demand. The point of using the tobacco essentials in all of our flavors is because it just makes sense. There are plenty of places that sell liquids that taste like candy, but that wasn't something we were initially interested in doing, at least not 100% and for obvious reasons and it seemed wise at the time of the decision to make all of our flavors at least somewhat tobacco based.

Eric, I'm sorry, I was confusing in part of my posts - I actually mentioned that another vendor has a more peppery taste which I assumed was the nicotine juice they use. I can't place the undertone of your juice for the world, but since it is present in all the juices, I assumed it was the nicotine.

It's hard to describe, but almost has an oily smell to it - but that's not right either.

And definitely don't change a thing for me - it seems to just be the two of us that even notice the undertone at all.

I have to say, I've been vaping your juices exclusively since last night - the undertone has diminished greatly since I tried the juice a few weeks ago, so I'm really able to taste the intended flavors.

After all is said and done - I'm going to continue to practice what I preach - don't review (even offhandedly as here in this thread) until you are SURE the flavor didn't need time to develop and meld together a bit more.

Right now I'm hitting Banana Mint Malt hard. And loving it! Last night was the Berry Mint, then onto New York late last night and this morning... and I've enjoyed each of them VERY much.

I actually have started to wonder if the flavor underwent something drastic in shipping after all, but has now mellowed back to where it's expected to be. Each flavor is coming through cleanly, crisply (uh, yeah, mint!) and without much, if any, interference from the tobacco base. Might be time to write a proper review after a while this afternoon.

Shanagan,

Oh I understood you were talking about another vendor, I was just wanting to know exactly how you'd describe the undertone in our liquids. There definitely is one, but to me it just tastes tobacco-y. Taste buds differ greatly from person to person. I have a friend who absolutely hates RY4 and Peach with a passion, but another friend of mine (and myself) absolutely adore both of them. Both friends love the Black Cherry, which I can't stand.

There might be something to the allowing the liquids to settle for a couple of days before vaping in the event they're received with an odd taste. I've only had around 10 reports of this of many thousands of orders and it does seem a trend is forming that in these rare cases the liquid does re-attain it's intended taste after settling for a few days.

Hopefully you'll find comfort in the fact that none of your comments here fall on deaf ears. If you have any questions or suggestions or requests or anything at all, always feel free to ask me on here, by phone, or by email.

:)
Eric

I received my sampler box a couple days ago also and had a few questions...

Tampa vaped great!!
Watermelon, great vape a bit earthy
Berry mint...great
Frost... great TH, not much vapor

Tiramisu.... tasted like vomit. I tried it the other night after hubby went to bed =( I filled one of his with it and when he got home from work. He stated that he thinks his cold is messing with the taste because the one I sent with him tasted like puke.
So I knew it wasn't just me.

They are tasting a bit perfume like.... I am guessing I need to let them **steep** ???
