Needs to be firm tight. It's your INSULATOR of your positive connection of your circuit.

Damn, just had this thing for like 2 weeks.. Good thing these are pretty cheap.

No it's not. That's the Peek insulator usually can be adjusted by the positive protruding screw at the bottom of your rda. Don't over adjust it because in some RDAs the protrusion is minimal and you won't get good contact.
Some cheap RDAs use materials other than peek that deflect and even melt at high temperatures.
