Hi there Whats a sticky switch? ...is it fixable?

It's usually caused by juice leaking down into the switch unit, and gumming it up slightly. Most commonly caused by overfilling, I would think.
If it was mine, I'd be tempted to syringe some neat ethanol into the battery unit, give it a shake, and then drain it out and put it somewhere warm to dry overnight. However, I have never tried this, and cannot guarantee it won't break it.
It should dissolve any sticky juice residue, and shouldn't have too too much of a deleterious effect on the battery or electronics. But if there are any alcohol-soluble varnishes/insulators in there it could have unpredictable effects.

If you can get it replaced under warranty that's probably preferable, but if you can't, and its performance is intolerable, then this may be worth a try as a last resort.

My 901 doesn't need a separate primer puff to activate, but it makes more vapour if you do, so worth experimenting with. I'm lucky - I used to smoke a pipe, so I naturally tend to primer puff to get the bowl back 'up to heat'

I might not be up to date about switches, there are some new ones now. I think the DSE901s have a membrane/switch in the battery that moves and makes a connection to provide power. That switch can get sticky - from a quirk of production or by getting wet with eliquid.

If it's wet then you can try standing it LED end up on some tissue to let it drain and dry. Otherwise if it's just an odd sticky one and your draw technique isn't the problem you could blow and suck gently the thread end a few times to try to loosen it up.

If all else fails and you're sure it's a switch problem you can poke a piece of wire/paperclip into the hole at the threaded end and give it a little wiggle. That can sometimes free a stuck switch.

All at your own risk.

If in doubt, send it back to the seller for a replacement.

I bought an extra pack of carts with my kit and they are different. I was constantly pulling the filling out of the atom with these carts so leaking liquid was most likely happening. I've since tried my other carts and that has not happened yet. Just wish I knew that filling in the atom was a bad thing earlier.

I've blown and drained so far. I'm still too new at this to try anything more complex yet. I'm having a hard time figuring out if its the battery, the atom or both.

Do you think it will eventually dry up and work good again or could it cause more damage and just send it back to the seller?

Thanks all for the help! I love this forum and my smoke free life!
