So tomorrow I should be getting a package from Avid vaper which includes a very small magnetic battery spacer that I plan to put on top of stacked 123's on my Omega (I know altsmokes stand on stacking) to help make the connection that I can't seem to get only with those batteries. The batteries work perfect on my silver bullet but not on the omega. Chad with Altsmoke suggested that I use some card stock the help align the batteries, but I didn't ever get it to work either, so that's when the mag idea came to me. The spacer only cost about 99 cents so i don't care if its a wasted purchase, but just want to see if anyone thinks this is stupid, or more importantly dangerous.
Thanks for the advice!

Whether stacking batteries in the mod your using is ok ,i cant answer that but as for just using the mag as a spacer to make a better contact point i dont see a problem since iv seen it done before . Dont quote me on that though .May want to wait for more replies . I know its definitely not a problem with single cell mods .

I don't have an Omega but I have a couple of mods that have to have spacers in order for the batteries to work. Put the spacer on the postive end that makes contact with the pin. Stacking batteries with spacers is not anymore dangerous than an 18650 with a spacer or not using a spacer at all. I hope this eases your mind and answers some of your questions.

Well the magnets work quite well, but they will not help with the batteries tipping sideways in the housing.
Next time the roll of TP runs out, you will have the perfect material to wrap around the batteries.

LOL...I've done that myself. I love vaping at 6V but some of the tubes are too big in my PV's to hold them in place. It's another reason someone invented TP rolls..........to help us vapers' out.

dude, I think you'll be fine...

of course if you blow your face off in a cartoonish way, I'm not taking responsibility...

everything in life has a calculated risk involved

some people who get into their cars in the morning, wont be alive when the sun sets...some people get too high and choke to death on bad convenience store pizza...some people who stack batteries in mods blow their faces off in cartoonish (or not so cartoonish) ways

the fact of the matter is, you'll probably be fine...a small percentage of people who do minimally to moderately risky things pay the price...a majority go on to vape another day

plus, if your batts have a protection circuit and something goes wrong, they'll just shut down and you'll go "aww dammit"

a big reason why places advise against battery stacking is liability..in their minds, some idiot will eventually try and jam couple of c cell batteries into a mod, blow themselves to kingdom come...then right after the funeral, the family calls their lawyer

so...it's all up to you obviously...but if it was me (the admitted anti-safety sally) id just go for it and assume I wouldn't be the 1 in 1000 that has stacking issues

If you're talking about LiFePO4 RCR123As...they can be safely stacked in any mod that will take 'em, in terms of the stacked length--as long as you are NOT dealing with a variable voltage mod. If it's a VV mod, you stand the chance of popping the input to the regulator, depending on the design.

As to the diameter of the batts being smaller than what you had in there before, you've got some good suggestions already.

You may find that your best luck in getting the things to work with the magnet, as a spacer, is to use the magnet on the positive terminal of the top-most battery.

One note....don't try to charge those suckers in series. Always charge them in the side-by-side, paired charger designed for those specific batteries.
