Issue with Pisces-T firing button

Hey everyone,

I am having issues with my Pisces-t firing button getting hot after about 2-3 hits. The setup I am running is a Pisces-T w/copper contacts and trident atty. I am using the Sony VTC4 batteries and a sub-ohm build around .4 to .5 ohms. I have tried higher ohm builds and that doesn't seem to be the issue because the button still overheats at around 6-7 hits running .8 to .9 ohms. I have cleaned the contacts, threads throughout the mod tried different batteries.. I cannot seem to find the issue. Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Jake

I've had this occasionally on my pisces clone, I've always thought it was just me not pressing evenly and making full contact with the switch. Admittedly that's hard to do because the throw on the switch is pretty short, but I'll get one hot button press and then next hit will be fine so I'm not sure what else it could be.

I used to get a similar issue with my kts+ when the switch didn't make complete contact with the post.

btw I usually run about .9ohm coils, so I don't think it's build resistance that causes it.

Not sure how much it matters, but i noticed the top firing pin, had a round blackish circle on both sides of it. I just cleaned it off an hour ago and that is there now. I wipes off easy but not sure what could cause it...

can you post a pic of this? are you putting your batteries in reversed?

sounds like some kind of arcing issue, but I'm not sure why that would happen. Maybe try a thin layer of noalox on the bottom of the battery?

Alright I will order some asap and hope it helps, anything else that might be easier to get ahold of? I am in Afghanistan at the moment so i can't just run to the store and grab some :p

I noticed on my bottom button spring that it only went half way around on both the top and bottom instead of making a complete circle. I noticed that when the button got hot it only heated up on one side before making the entire button hot so I surmised that perhaps the spring had something to do with it. I tucked the bottom and top ends up into the spring to make a complete circle and tried it out, so far so good. Does this seem like a plausible reason for the heating up of the button?

I am starting to think the same thing, that the spring is the issue. Not quite sure what you mean by tucking it in though.
