So I got my SVD last Thursday. Last night it started to read ohms really off. But on majority of my tanks it would read the right ohms. So once I changed certain tanks, all was good. I switched a couple brand new heads an it was reading them all properly. Then this morning I tested it on 2 vivi nova kits unopened and it's reading their 2.4 ohms at a whopping 7-9 and anywhere inbetween everytime I check. I've already contacted my vendor and probably going to have to send it back tomorrow to get it checked out/replaced. Has anyone experienced anything like this? I'm currently smoking it now on an iClear and it's working great, but at the same time will read that my brand new vivi nova's and 6 brand new diff heads are ridiculously high ohms.

It may not be a problem with your SVD but rather the Vivi heads. I've had the same issue occur with Vivi heads -- get ohm readings that in the 7+ range when I first take them out of the packaging. Turns out that the center pin is sometimes not seated properly in the new heads.

If the problem is occurring only with the Vivi heads on your SVD and does not occur with any other device/tank you attach, I'd say it was a Vivi problem rather than an SVD problem.

I have a pretty big collection of vivi's. Up until a week ago they were my main vape. About 3-4 other vivi's work fine on it. But my 2 new vivi's don't... including the 2 spare heads that come with each of them.

Also, I would like to add, the day before this, it was also doing this to my brand new unused iClear, it would say it was at 4-6 ohms. However, when I added a diff coil to the iClear... and then swapped it back an forth with the 1 that wasn't working, it started to read it properly.

Do you guys still feel it's the vivi nova heads instead of the SVD? Is there anyway to fix the heads.. I got like over 9 unused vivi nova heads it's not reading... while at the same time it reads perfectly in other vivi tanks I got..

I've been told it's impossible for that many coils to not work brand new out the box like that.

There certainly could be a problem with the SVD. If your vendor is willing to take it back and check it for you (and replace if necessary) you may want to take advantage of that just for the peace of mind. But if I had to place a bet on this, I’d bet that the SVD is OK.

In terms of the heads – are they not firing at all on the SVD, or are they just giving wonky ohm readings? I’ve experienced the latter and have found that after a short period of use the ohm readings stop bouncing around the 5 -7 ohm level and settle down to what they should be.
