So I just got my new SVD this morning! I love it love love love it lol...minus one little thing. I have a couple deferent cartos which I was using on the vision spinner. Manger pro tank 2 minions a unitank. Pro tank has a 2.5 ohm head and the unitsnk I just put in a brand new 1.8 head. Also the svd came with two iclear 30 tanks. The first iclear tank I put in on the svd has a 2.1 ohm head which I found out from videos where people reviewed the same product. When I check the ohms of the iclear on the svd it read 2.1 before firing when I fired it a couple of times it went up to 2.2 (I just tried it again to confirm and it's not changing it stays on 2.1....trying to make me look like a fool :p) however...when I put in the unitank with 1.8 it reads 2.0 and when I fire it goes up to 2.2. Same with the pro tank 2.5 reading 2.7 BUT after firing it stays at 2.7.... What is going on? Doesn't really bother me I can easily get an ohm meter when I start doing rda' sand rba's but still I would like to be able to use the svd to read my ohms.

HMMMM. I'll second the ohm reader but my SVD does not fluctuate like that , my reading will fluctuate over time as the coil gets gunked up , I suspect the 510 connection on those tanks differ in making contact with the center post on the SVD causing the fluctuations , check the connections on all your tanks and make sure the center post on the SVD is not impeded , it's spring loaded , try depressing it and see if it's binding anywhere . It is not normal to have those fluctuations on a VV/VW device , a bad connection is the likely culprit .

BTW it is normal for the resistance to vary with replacement heads the rating the manufacturers give is ballpark at best , Kanger's really bad with it , it's not uncommon to buy a five pack of heads and have resistance vary on all of them as much as 5 tenth's , ie rated 2.5 ohms when actual resistance is 3 ohms they are inconsistent at best , the SVD is very accurate , I've compared readings with a multimeter and it's usually spot on , if your readings vary wildly with one coil it's a connection problem .

Hmm thanks for that info. Didn't know that. It actually makes sense for the Kenger tanks to be acting up since the clear is showing proper ratings now. I will be getting an ohm meter so if you guys want I will post an update to see if it's just the kenger tanks being "funny" lol. Thanks a lot.

Resistance can also go up with use. As you use it more and more gunk will stick to it. You can start out at 1.8 and watch it go up to 2 or more as you keep using it. It's gradual, but it is there.

True, but the thing is I JUST got it at 12:00 pm fresh out the box. From the moment I out the kenger tanks in the resistance has been +.2 and after using it all day the I clear started showing correct ohms except the kenger tanks.

Okay just a quick update... I found my very first carto which is a really cheap bbc lol but when I checked and confirmed it has a 2.5 ohm head I put it in the svd and it read 2.5 so that and the clear is reading 2.1 which are both correct so the conclusion is that retic1959 was right, the kanger tanks are just being stubborn. Thanks for all the help guys I appreciate it!!!!

My SVD and my VTR ALWAYS read +/- .1 or.2 ohms compared to my meters reading. They both have since the day I got them. I always verify with a stand alone meter anyways, and I don't sub-ohm, so it's no biggie to me. My Vamo almost always reads the same as my meter though. Kind of unusual for a Vamo, but whatever.
