To sum things up I can't get the voltage to go down could it be grounding out somewhere I turn the pot trimmer get 7.4 turn it the opposite way I get 7.4 any ideas?? (all this is going in a altoids can mind you so I you think it may be the body let me know) other issue is when I get it working then assemble it (put connector in its hole) it then stops working. Any thoughts I can be more specific if need be just thought this would be clear enough with out having a whole story behind it

The metal on the switch is touching as well I think that may be grounding it out as well I'll try in again in a few ill start with insulating the inside of the case and then applying the terminals to make sure nothin is grounding there then I'll wrap the board to make sure the bottom isnt grounding out as well as the switch.

Ok issue is there but kinda narrowed down I used electrical tape to keep the positives from touching the case but I'm still getting 7.4-8.08v no matter which way I turn the pot no metal other than the negative terminals are touching the case and even they are spaced by hot glue

Checked the regulator with a meter and its working just fine no stray wire or solder. I try reading the connector now and I get nothing I know the center post is loose but it's still in the hole and touching as well as the ground enough to give me some kind of reading. IM GETTING FRUSTRATED!! Lol. One minute it works the next it won't even read. I have two 14500 batts stacked reading 8.10v and I still get either no power tithe connector or can't drop the volts from 7.4 it's never both.

odd, i had a similar problem, it either showed as .6v to .8v or 6.4v couldnt adjust at all, i then found my + wire to the board had a bad connection fixed that and got constant 6.4v no matter where i turned the pot, lead me to believe that i had screwed up the resistors but then figured what the heck since it may be fubar ill try reseating the chip to the board and add a bit more solder to the points, did that and put the batteries in and tested worked fine reading from 1.2 to 6+, havent had any problems with it since aside from batts needing recharged tis why i have 3 sets in rotation
